"Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me,”

Mark 9:37.

Greetings!

While Jesus was on earth, He often surprised people through His decision to associate with people who were considered the lowest of the low in their society, including tax collectors, prostitutes, and sinners. When the Pharisees questioned why He ate and drank with these types of people, Jesus responded, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance," Luke 5:31-37.

During Jesus's ministry, He also showed great love for children, who held a low status in society. Children had no power and were expected to be neither seen nor heard, but Jesus saw them and heard them. When His disciples tried to prevent the children from seeing Him, Jesus corrected them and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these," Mark 10:14. "And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them," Mark 10:16.

Even before this, Jesus told his disciples about the importance of caring for the least of these, the people society considered the lowest of the low. He said, "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me," Mark 9:37. Jesus calls each of us to humbly serve the vulnerable. In doing so, we are serving God.

Living Stones Christian School

Teachers prepared for students to return to class with a day of phonics training. They reviewed all the phonics sounds, how to teach them effectively, and learned games and practical activities to use with the children. It was a fun day of learning!

Students in grades P1- P7 began classes for the new school year on February 10. Please continue to pray for the school, the students, and the teachers.

After graduating the first Primary 7 class from LSCS in 2025, these 12 students had to take the PLE (Primary Leaving Examination). This is a required three-day test all Ugandan students must take after completing primary school to see if they qualify for secondary school. The test includes four core subjects: English, mathematics, science, and social studies, and the final results are categorized into four categories. Those who fall in the 1st or 2nd divisions are accepted into secondary school, those in the 3rd might be able to attend a trade school, and those in the 4th division are not accepted. Only 1.4% of Ugandans score in the 1st division. All 12 LSCS graduates scored in the 2nd division and all qualified for secondary school! Nine of these students are in the Child Development Program. Praise God for answered prayers! Please pray for these 12 students and their secondary school education.

Growing Kingdom

Earlier this month, we celebrated with several of our Acholi brothers and sisters as they made the outward sign of an internal decision to follow Christ through baptism at Living Stones Community Church at Abaana's Hope. What a joyful day! We praise God for the new life He's given these believers. Please continue to pray for them as they grow in their faith and walk with Christ.

AH Farm Update

In 2025, the Abaana's Hope farm workers were trained in the Farming God’s Way method. Since then, this new method has produced much higher yields compared to the previous conventional way of farming. The farm has produced more than four times as much produce. The soil has also regained its fertility, retained moisture, and received rest from notorious weed invasions. We praise God for the opportunity to provide the training for this method and for the harvest produced.

God has not only provided a way for the AH farm to produce more crops, but He's also used the farm to produce fruit in the lives of the farm workers. Pastors Okello Benson and Openy Vincent both started working as farm workers and the Lord has directed their paths towards ministry. They preach at Living Stones Community Church, graduated from the Pastor Training Center, are now PTC lead trainers, and are currently taking online seminary classes through New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Please continue to pray for AH farm, that it will continue to produce high yields, and pray for the farm workers, as they continue to learn more about Christ through weekly Bible studies. Please pray for Benson and Vincent as they continue to learn through seminary, for the LSCS teachers, the LSCS students, and Living Stones Community Church. Pray that the school and church will continue to be beacons of hope in the community, pointing others to Jesus.

Until all have heard,

Message from LSCS

“Greetings, my name is Opito Judith, and I am one of the three original teachers of Living Stones Christian School at Abaana’s Hope. My area of passion is teaching phonics and language development. Here we are teaching in a biblical way. The school here is full of God’s Word. All the children learn the gospel and have chapel in the church every Tuesday. Please pray for the school, the students, and the teachers, that God will give us wisdom and the fruit of the Spirit. Thank you for continuing to support the school here for God’s glory."

Until all have heard,
