Bringing Community, Creativity, and Compassion Together

Still Waters Adult Day Center is a person-centered, faith-based, and activity-rich center for our seniors. We provide a safe space, Monday through Friday, for seniors to engage with one another, encouraging social, emotional, and physical well-being.

At the core of who we are is a simple truth: Still Waters is more than a day center.

Every day we give seniors the opportunity to live as though age, memory, or health challenges have not gotten in the way. Thanks to generous grants and community partnerships, our doors are open wide to welcome art therapists, movement specialists, music therapists, fitness instructors, musicians, and artists.

The result is a place where joy is shared and community comes alive. Guests don't just pass the time; they thrive, laugh, and form bonds with one another and with our staff. The proof of this? We are at capacity. Families hear about the love and laughter filling our rooms, and they want to be part of it. This is the truest sign of success, and we could not be more grateful.

At Still Waters, we don’t just care for seniors; we create a place where life continues to be lived fully, joyfully, and in community. Every laugh, every song, every friendship is proof that aging can still be beautiful.

Meet Aprili Our New Laughter Coach

One of the greatest blessings of the grants we receive is the ability to bring in new and innovative providers who enrich the lives of our seniors in ways we never imagined. Thanks to our partnership with Arts with a Purpose, we are thrilled to welcome one of our newest presenters, a laughter coach who joins us weekly to spread joy throughout the center.

Like us, you may have never even heard of a laughter coach before. But once you meet Aprili, you quickly understand the magic she brings. Her sessions are filled with lighthearted fun, shared giggles, and downright contagious laughter that ripples through the room. As the saying goes, “laughter is the best medicine,” and Aprili proves it every single time she visits.

Life can feel heavy and difficult at times, but when Aprili is with us, those worries fade into the background. Her presence reminds us all of the healing power of joy. Watching our seniors light up with laughter has been a gift, not just for them, but also for our staff and volunteers.

At Still Waters, we believe that wellness is not only about the body but also the spirit. With partners like Arts with a Purpose and presenters like Aprili, we are creating moments of pure happiness that brighten the days of everyone in our community.

Celebrating the Blessing of Community Support

This season, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude as we celebrate the generosity of those who share our commitment to Still Waters' mission. Each grant we receive is more than just financial support; it is a gift of trust, love, and belief in the value of our seniors and their families.

We are deeply grateful to those who support and strengthen our center, enabling us to continue expanding the services that make a difference every single day. The OrthoIndy Foundation is helping us bring our vision to life by transforming our dining room into a Rock Cola Café. This vibrant space will soon echo with jukebox tunes, laughter, and the joy of gathering together. Take a peek at the photo for a sneak preview of our new Rock Cola Café!

Thanks to the Women's Fund of Central Indiana, our ladies are reminded of their incredible worth through programs designed to nurture not only physical health but also confidence and self-esteem. And through the continued support of the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, caregivers are given the precious gift of respite, knowing that while they take a much-needed breath, their loved one is safe and cared for.

These grants are far more than lines in a budget. They are signs of compassion and commitment from a community that believes in honoring the lives of seniors. They enable us to bring light into each day through programs that foster connection and a sense of belonging. For that, we are humbled, grateful, and inspired to continue walking this journey with love at the center of all we do.

Come Be Part of Our FREE Community Programs

We are excited to announce that Still Waters is opening its doors wider than ever with new free community programs designed for everyone. These gatherings aren’t just activities; they are moments to connect, belong, and build friendships that brighten the week.

On Monday mornings, coffee hour invites neighbors to gather over warm mugs and engaging conversations. Tuesdays bring women together for fitness, where the focus is not only on health but also on encouragement and camaraderie. And on Thursdays, the joy of friendly competition fills the room during lively games of euchre, where laughter often carries louder than the cards being played.

These programs are about more than staying busy; they are about staying connected. Our goal is to welcome independent seniors into a space where they can engage with others and discover happiness in the everyday connections we share. If you know a friend, parent, or neighbor who could use a place to belong, invite them to join us! Together, let's spread the word and make sure no senior feels alone when a welcoming community is right here waiting for them.

Join Us for Music Under the Stars this Friday

This Friday, October 3rd at 6:00 PM, we invite you to join us for an unforgettable evening of Music Under the Stars. Picture yourself under the autumn sky, wrapped in the crisp evening air, as live music drifts across the night. It will be a time to slow down, soak in the beauty of the season, and celebrate the gift of community.

More than just a concert, this evening is about connection. It’s a chance to laugh with friends, share a smile with neighbors, and remember that some of life’s sweetest moments are also the simplest ones we share together. Bring your loved ones, grab a cozy blanket or chair, and let’s make memories under the stars.

At the heart of it all, Still Waters remains a place of love, belonging, and dignity. Every program, every conversation, and every shared laugh is proof that seniors are not forgotten; they are cherished. With your continued support, we are creating a community where aging is not an ending but a season filled with purpose, meaning, and joy.
