A Different Kind of Partnership
Up to this point, our partnerships with universities have been based on working with engineering students who design and build assistive devices for veterans and first responders with disabilities. This Fall, however, to enhance our work, we will be participating in a new kind of partnership.
Starting in August, Colorado State University, in partnership with QL+, will be offering "Writing in the Disciplines: Sciences." As part of this course, STEM students will research and write about projects that are being worked on at QL+'s other partner universities. Their work will then be used for social media posts and articles that can be used in general media (newspapers, online articles, etc.). For many STEM students, this will be an opportunity to improve their writing style, which will help them with future employers. The curriculum is also designed to help students better understand accessibility issues and veteran experiences. For many, it will fulfill a requirement for a high-level writing class.
We are incredibly excited about this partnership and the possibilities it brings. Stay tuned for future updates.
