Luke Yingling (MPA '25) was voted as Vice President of the 2024-2054 Graduate Student Senate.

Nick Torress (MPA ’22) signed a free agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Melanie Menkevich's (MPA'23) article "Assessing the Needs of Immigrants and Refugees in Greater Northeast Philadelphia: A Case Study at Gifford Playground" has been published in the Journal for Peace & Justice Studies. This is a special edition with work from the annual Graduate Student Peace and Justice Symposium, in which Melanie presented. This research project began in Dr. Trainer's Applied Data Analysis class as Melanie's research proposal final project. She continued this research with Dr. Miltenberger as an Independent Study. Melanie is administering and teaching an ESL class a result of the research.

Tyler Bozzuto (MPA’22) is starting a new position as Estate & Landscape Supervisor at Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library.

Sally Slook (MPA’08) will be taking on a new role as the Director of Building and Housing with the Borough of West Chester!

Kristin Felgenauer (MPA’22) is starting a new position as Manager of Operations at Emagine Health Services!

Johnny Cooper (MPA'15) was appointed to National Board of Directors for Association of Fundraising Professionals Foundation for Philanthropy - January 2024.

Brian Reimers (MPA'22) started a new position as the Finance Strategic Initiatives Administrator at Minnesota's Department of Corrections!

Samantha Byers (MPA'17) have been appointed as the Adult Behavioral Health Director for the Oregon Health Authority!

Maria Miranda (MPA'17) was recently named to the national board of Funders for LGBTQ Issues.

Andrew Jones (MPA'19) was recently promoted to Senior Project Manager in the Research & Evaluation Group at Public Health Management Corporation.
Faculty News and Achievements

We are thrilled to announce the latest scholarly contributions from the Department of Public Administration

  • Dr. Theodore Arapis, Associate Professor and Chair of the Public Administration Department, recently collaborated with leading scholars in Public Budgeting and Finance to pave the way for new explorations in financial management research. This landmark collaborative effort has culminated in a significant publication titled "Establishing an Agenda for Public Budgeting and Finance Research" featured in the Public Finance Journal.   • Dr. Catherine Wilson, Associate Professor of the Public Administration Department, received a Small Research Grant from the Villanova Institute for Research and Scholarship for her book project titled “Citizenship as Travel: immigrant Integration in the City of Brotherly Love.” Congratulations!

Volunteer opportunity

We're excited to announce an incredible volunteer opportunity brought to us by Conversations to Remember, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to combating loneliness and isolation among senior citizens.

What They Do
Conversations to Remember pairs college students with residents of long-term care, assisted living, and memory care communities for virtual video visits. Through friendly conversations, students can truly brighten the days of seniors who have been experiencing isolation.

How It Works
Once registered, you'll be matched with a senior based on your availability. Each visit lasts up to one hour, and they strive to build lasting friendships between volunteers and seniors.

Join the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee 

Make Your Voice Heard 
The Public Administration Department is looking for students to join the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Joining the committee is a great opportunity to network with Public Administration alumni, staff, and students, and give back to the Villanova community. 

Who Can Join? 
The Committee is open to anyone that is interested in joining! Students from all backgrounds and paths of life are invited to join. Specifcally, the committee welcomes student athletes, first generation students, international students, online students, and undergraduate students. 

What Are The Requirements? 
4 virtual full-comittee meetings per academic year. 
1-2 hours of sub-comittee work per month.
