Rotary District 6970

Hello Rotarians,

As Rotary focuses this month on Membership and New Club Development, let us remember that when we work together to do good in the world and share the Rotary story, everyone benefits.

Every service project, fundraiser, and social gathering is an opportunity to strengthen friendships and build new ones. By welcoming prospective members into our Rotary experience, we can learn what they are looking for—and help them find the club or Rotary opportunity that is right for them.

Sometimes that may mean introducing them to another club. Sometimes it may mean creating something new, such as a Satellite Club that meets after work or a club focused on service projects that meets on weekends. The goal is simple: find new ways to connect people with Rotary and give them meaningful opportunities to serve.

Rotary International President Olayinka Hakeem "Yinka" Babalola's message is "Create Lasting Impact." In addition to our meaningful service projects and supporting our club members, what better way to accomplish this than by investing in the next generation through Rotaract, Interact, and EarlyAct? With mentorship, service, and positive example, we can inspire young people to become leaders who will change their communities and our world.

When we welcome others into Rotary, we strengthen our organization today—and create a lasting impact for generations to come.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Bo Norton
District Governor

What Club Model Is Right for You?

Every Rotary and Rotaract club is united by the same core values and commitment to service, but no two clubs have to look exactly alike. Today's Rotary offers flexible options to meet the needs of different communities and lifestyles. When starting a new club, you'll choose a club type, meeting format, and club model based on the interests of prospective members and the needs of your community. The first step is deciding what type of club is the best fit: a Rotary club, a Rotaract club, a Satellite Club, or a Companion Club.
