A level, competitive playing field just got a bit closer here in the Golden State.
SB 241's court reporter firm language passed out of the Senate Appropriations Committee unanimously this morning and now heads to the Senate Floor. This is the same firm-registration, reporter-in-charge language that was supported last August by CalDRA, CCRA, and the California Court Reporters Board (CRB).
SB 241 has now traveled through three Senate Committees and has been unanimously supported by each one.
