COVID Updates Regarding Surveillance Testing & Vaccinations
Campus Surveillance Testing  Requirements Have Changing for Fully Vaccinated People

For fully vaccinated faculty, staff, and most* students: weekly testing will not be required for 90 days from the date your testing badge turns green - either 14 days after a final UHS vaccine or 14 days after the recorded date in eTang of a final outside vaccine. If you’ve been vaccinated outside of UHS, you’ll also need to complete at least one surveillance test at UHS to receive a green badge status.

*Vaccinated students living in campus housing or participating in Athletics will still be required to get surveillance testing, but 1x/week, not 2x.

Please note that vaccinated people should still isolate/quarantine and come in for diagnostic testing (at UHS, as scheduled in eTang) if they become symptomatic or come in close contact with a case and live in congregate housing.

Ability to Upload Your Vaccine Records in eTang

You can (and are strongly encouraged to) upload your outside COVID-19 vaccine records in eTang.

Fully Vaccinated Do's and Don'ts

If you've been fully vaccinated, see our CDC-informed guidance on what's changed — and what remains the same. There's also a good quick video from UC Berkeley about post-vaccine life.
Stop Fat Talk - Resources From the UHS Nutrition Team
Fat talk perpetuates an unrealistic ideal of the perfect, thin body. The more we thoughtlessly talk about the “ideal” body, the more pressure we put on ourselves and others to strive for unattainable physical perfection.

Fat talk creates an environment that normalizes body dissatisfaction. Body dissatisfaction has huge costs — financially, psychologically, culturally — to individuals and society. In addition, body dissatisfaction sets the stage for extreme and harmful eating behaviors which may develop into full-blown eating disorders.

Exercise is Medicine Program Wins Gold Level Recognition Award
The Exercise is Medicine On Campus (EIM-OC) program at UC Berkeley has been honored with a Gold Level recognition award from the American College of Sports Medicine.

The EIM-OC program at UC Berkeley was started in 2019 as a collaboration between UHS, Rec Sports, the SPH, and the Physical Education Program. EIM-OC at UCB is committed to the belief that physical activity promotes optimal health, is integral in the prevention and treatment of many medical conditions and should be regularly assessed and included as part of health care. Since its inception, the program has successfully referred students for health coaching, physical activity assessment, and personal training. It also sponsored a celebration of EIM on campus month where several online exercise classes were offered to students and hosted various conferences and lectures.

We hope that this recognition will help increase awareness of the program around campus and encourage participation by students, faculty and staff in order to promote the health and wellbeing of our student population through physical activity and exercise.
