Estonians Helping Estonians!

The EFC/ESK Board of Directors is pleased to introduce “Estonians Helping Estonians” - “Eestlased aitavad eestlasi” as the theme of EFC’s 2025-2029 Strategic Plan.  It is also our new tagline reflecting the spirit guiding EFC since its inception in 1974 - to strengthen and support the Estonian community across Canada.

EFC's Founding Meeting in 1974

As we look to the future, we invite you to be part of this shared mission. Please support EFC’s work by helping out in the office or at EFC events. And of course, all donations matter!  Contact EFC office at 416 465 5600 or info@estonianfoundation.ca to learn more.

Lea at the Estonian Song Festival in 2014

Meet Lea Kõiv! She is passionate about her Estonian heritage, and an active community member. Lea volunteers her time and expertise with different Estonian institutions and charities, because these organizations and initiatives bring the community together.

Lea’s parents, Ants and Salomia Kõiv, taught her at a young age that she should contribute both time and money to build a strong community – Give to a cause that will bring you joy. - “Toeta seda, mis toob Sulle rõõmu.”

For Lea, that cause is being a long-time monthly donor to EFC. She knows that monthly donations provide predictable and stable funding for EFC, have a long-term impact, and can be more affordable and easier to budget for the donor. Please join Lea in supporting our community! You can become a monthly donor by signing up on EFC website, setting up a bank transfer, or calling EFC’s office.
