VOLUNTEER

A Note from Ms. Kelli and Ms. Jeni:

Hi St. Luke's families!

Children's Ministry has been busy with fellowship, learning, and serving.

Here is a look at what our kids have been up to:

Love In Action

This month we joined the fun at Fall Family Fun Night passing out treats to the kids while also giving kids the opportunity to make some special treats for others. Kids made treat bags and included a special note for the teachers at our partner schools, Mollie Ray Elementary and Maxey Elementary. Kids also a had the opportunity to make them on Sunday at The Treehouse. Together about 100 treat bags and notes were made for our partner school teachers!

Fall Fun

Thank you to everyone who attended Fall Family Fun Night on October 21. We had more than 1,000 families and friends volunteering, hosting a trunk, donating candy, and enjoying the food, fun, and fellowship. We look forward to next year!

All In Sundays Are Back

Starting the first Sunday of every month, we are gathering the whole family to worship together for All In Sundays! On these special Sundays, our K–5th programming (Rooted in The Treehouse) will be closed so kids, parents, and our volunteers can experience worship together in either our Contemporary or Traditional service. Our first All In Sunday will be on Sunday, December 6th.

We love seeing our sanctuary filled with the energy of all generations! Our nursery and preschool ministry, The Nest, will remain open and ready to welcome our littlest ones (ages 0 through VPK). We can't wait to worship together as one church family!

As always we are thankful and grateful for each and every one of you, and we are blessed to be doing ministry with you!

With so much love,

Ms. Kelli and Ms. Jeni

What a wonderful pumpkin patch season! Thank you to everyone who helped make this year's pumpkin patch a success! Through the generosity and support of our church and community, we raised funds for our Child Development Center Scholarship Fund, helping make a difference in the lives of children and families.

On Sunday mornings in The Nest, our preschoolers continue to grow in their faith through the Frolic curriculum, which emphasizes repetition, hands-on activities, and playful learning. By spending two weeks exploring each Bible story, our little ones have the opportunity to connect with God's Word in meaningful and memorable ways.

Our preschoolers recently learned about Joseph and his Coat of Many Colors. Throughout November, they will continue Joseph's story as they learn about his brothers, and they will also discover the stories of Deborah and Queen Esther, two courageous women who trusted God.

As November comes to a close, we look forward to beginning the season of Advent on Sunday, November 29! Our preschoolers will begin preparing their hearts for the joy and wonder of Christmas as we celebrate the coming of Jesus.

Rooted (Sunday Programming) at The Treehouse

On Sunday mornings, we've been diving into the book of Exodus, learning about our history and the ten commandments. We've also been reading the book of Matthew. Jesus was teaching to the leaders and community, the greatest commandment, "Love the Lord your God with all your hear, soul, and mind."

We also joined together as a community as we participated in communion and All Saint's Day by honoring a person in our life that has helped our faith grow and been an example of loving God and loving others.

This month we will continue reading scripture from Matthew as well as learning from the books of Psalms and Judges. We will be ending the month of November preparing our hearts for the Season of Advent and the most wonderful gift of all!

Branch Out (Wednesday Night Programming) at The Treehouse

Our Reel Moments series in The Treehouse continues to thrive. We spent some time in the book of Corinthians discussing what it means to be the body of Christ. With the help of Elsa, Olaf, Lightening McQueen, and The Lego Movie we learned the why it is important to work together as a body of Christ, that every part of the body and the gift it brings is important, and ultimately love is the greatest gift you can give.

We ended the month with a Glow Night in which we participated in some fun glow activities and were reminded, to "Grow, Glow, and Go!" Grow in your faith, Glow knowing you are loved and a child of God, and Go out and share that love with others.

Join us on Wednesday, November 18th for some fun, fellowship, and a Thanksgiving Feast.

Give Thanks. Give Food. Give Someone a PIE IN THE FACE

It's a Thanksgiving Food Drive SHOWDOWN at St. Luke's!

Our Preschool, Elementary, and Youth Ministries are going head-to-head in a friendly competition to help fill Thanksgiving baskets for One Heart for Women and Children!

Preschool is collecting mashed potatoes, Elementary is collecting canned green beans, and Youth is collecting canned corn.

The ministry that brings in the MOST wins the ultimate prize…A PIE IN THE FACE!

Families are welcome to bring in items for other ministries. Our goal is to collect 100 of each food item. Let's fill our shelves so we can fill those baskets!

Bible Reading Plan Challenge - We have a challenge for our St. Luke's Kids to read the Bible on a regular basis. A Bible Reading Plan has been created to help them. Families can print the plan, read the assigned scripture, and place a sticker/check mark once it is completed. Plans are accommodated for kindergarten, 1st-2nd, and 3rd-5th. Kindergarten plans are created so they can use their Celebrate Wonder Storybook Bible. This week we are on week six of the bible plan.

Kids that complete the Bible Reading Plan for this quarter (13 weeks) will receive a popsicle party on Sunday, January 10 after worship! Who will complete the challenge?!

Come play with us!

Babies, toddlers, and their caregivers are invited to enjoy age-appropriate toys, activities, and opportunities to build friendships. Join us each Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. for a fun and relaxed time of play, connection, and community!

Make a difference in 2027 by volunteering with us!

Our volunteers are the heart of what makes our programs fun, meaningful, and impactful. There are opportunities to serve on Sundays, Wednesday nights, and even behind the scenes during the week. Youth and adults are both welcome to be part of the fun! Let us know you’re interested by clicking the button below.
