Summer Mission Appeal

Fr. Francis Asagba, the Judicial Vicar of the Diocese of Brooklyn, will be visiting our parishes for a mission appeal during the weekend of July 26–27. He will speak on behalf of the Marian Sisters of Eucharistic Love in Ghana. The Sisters provide a home for children with special needs who are often rejected or even ritually killed by their families and communities due to superstitious beliefs that associate congenital disabilities with witchcraft. In addition to providing care, the Sisters also focus on raising awareness and educating the community. Your generous donations will directly impact the lives of these children by providing them with a safe home and education. Please make all checks for this appeal payable to our parish, noting "2025 Mission Appeal" in the memo. Click here to learn more about the work of the Sisters.

The Parish Office will be closed on Fridays through August 29. However, the phone will be open between 9:00am and 1:00pm.

📖 Join Br. Andy for Scriptural Study – The Holiness Code of Leviticus

Sponsored by the Social Justice Committee

“Be holy, for I, the LORD your God, am holy!” With this command the people of Israel are called to live by an ethical code, projecting God’s goodness into the world and being a role model for all people. Many scholars see the Holiness Code as a theological pinnacle of the Pentateuch, pulling together the many thematic threads of the Old Testament. It is the Holiness Code that Jesus is citing at the Sermon on the Mount when he says, “So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Matt 5:48. The Holiness Code may be seen as a foundational source for modern Catholic Social Justice teaching. Mass Intentions

It has been a long tradition in the Church to offer Masses for people to pray, especially for the dead, seeking God’s grace, mercy, and spiritual benefits through Christ’s sacrifice. Usually a modest donation is given for this. In the coming weeks we have several Masses with no particular intentions. If you would like to have a Mass offered for someone (living or deceased), email the parish office at info@oratorychurch.org or click here.
