Marquette Family Bruch 2025

morning of Friday May 9

Invites will be sent out to families week of April 7th

SPRING WEATHER

As the weather fluctuates this time of year, please help your child have the appropriate clothing/gear for school. Marquette policy is that students must wear a coat when the temperature is below 40°. Additionally, as snow continues to melt and there is mud and exposed grass, please continue to send boots with your child each day. The field and other outdoor areas around the school are quite muddy/dirty, and we want to do our best to not track mud back into the school for the custodians to clean up.

From the Library

All classes will be participating in the Welcoming Schools Read Aloud Day which is Friday, April 4th. Classes will be reading the book, My Shadow is Purple by Scott Stuart. We will be using this book to talk about the Day of Silence and discussing the importance of being inclusive. In library lessons, all grades levels will also read books and discuss poetry month and earth day.

REACH Class

5th Grade: During the month of April, students will work on learning how to design 3D projects in tinkercad and work on making their own bookmark to print.

SCHOOL CAFE AND FREE / REDUCED MEALS

Breakfast and Lunch

Students who eat breakfast at school will do so in their classrooms. Lunch will be served in our cafeteria. See the information below from MMSD’s Food Service department. ***It is important to note that families will be charged for breakfast and lunch this year, so please ensure your student knows if you want them to eat school breakfast and lunch.***

Children need healthy meals to learn. MMSD offers healthy meals every school day. All of our menus in the USDA program are designed to meet USDA nutritional standards. Each menu is analyzed weekly, evaluating it using eight specific nutritional targets.

The National School Lunch/Breakfast Program is a federally subsidized program designed to help eligible children receive complete, nutritious meals at reduced or no cost. Families that qualify for free or reduced-priced meals can confidentially participate in both the USDA Lunch and Breakfast Programs at their schools. Each school year, a new application needs to be filled out, and only one application per family is necessary.

MMSD uses School Café to connect families to MMSD School Nutrition. Creating an account is quick and easy and will offer access to school menus, account balances, payment options, and the ability to apply and see the status of your free and reduced lunch application.

Here is what you need to do:

  1. Create your account on School Café. You will need your student's school ID number to create an account. This can be found in Infinite Campus by clicking "home" in the left navigation bar within Infinite Campus. You may also call the Main Office.
  2. Log back into your School Café account
  3. Access school menus, account balance, payment options, and the free and reduced lunch application
