Superintendent's Weekly Message

Dear HBCSD Families,

As we close another incredible school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on one of my favorite traditions across our district — our Open House events. These special evenings provide our students, teachers, and staff the opportunity to proudly showcase the hard work, creativity, and growth that have taken place throughout the year.

I am so proud of the tremendous progress our Vista and View students have made this year. Their learning, confidence, and accomplishments are a direct reflection of the dedication and partnership shared among our students, staff, and families. I also want to recognize our teachers for their outstanding work transitioning to new curriculum and instructional practices this year. Their commitment to continuous improvement and student success has been inspiring.

I am also looking forward to next week’s Valley Open House event on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 5:30–6:30 PM. It will be another wonderful opportunity to celebrate student learning and the vibrant spirit of our school community.

While you are there, please don’t forget to stop by the Valley Multipurpose Room to enjoy the amazing “Young at Art” displays. Our students’ creativity and talent are truly remarkable, and this showcase is always a highlight of the evening.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership throughout the school year. I look forward to celebrating with many of you next week.

Warm regards,

Dr. Susan Wildes

Hermosa View School Principal News

Dear View Families,

Last week we partnered with our amazing parents to put on our first Career Day at Hermosa View. Our students had the opportunity to explore a variety of amazing careers that they can aspire to. Thank you to our dedicated school counselor, Ms. Okuda, for organizing such a successful event and for our parent volunteers for giving up your morning to give our kids such a great opportunity.

Music also filled the air on Thursday at our Spring Sing event. Thanks to the leadership of Mr. Raghuram, our beautiful school community came together to watch our kids shine as they sang up on those risers. I couldn’t help but reflect on the first day of school at View this year to their moment on Thursday. What growth they have made! I couldn’t be more proud of our kids.

Next week is another busy one! Our first graders are taking a field trip to Vista to explore their new school on Monday. Tuesday, June 2nd is View’s Field Day, a day HVPTO puts on for our kids to play a variety of fun and exciting games outside. Please make sure to dress your kids in closed toed shoes and comfortable clothes. Don’t forget sunscreen!

Warmly,

Dr. Jessica Ghobrial

Hermosa View Principal / HB Preschool Director

Hermosa Vista School Principal News

Dear Vista Families,

It was wonderful seeing everyone at our Open House on Thursday! Our students were filled with pride as they shared the work they have completed throughout the school year. It has been incredible to witness the growth and accomplishments they have achieved this year. I would also like to thank our Vista teachers for their hard work and commitment to the learning our students have done this year.

Wednesday, June 3rd is Field Day. Please make sure your kids wear sunscreen and a hat. HVPTO will be serving fun snacks for the day. We are still looking for one parent volunteer to help with setup on Wednesday morning and one additional 4th grade parent volunteer to assist with the Wiffle Ball Pool Noodle station. Please contact the Field Day coordinator if you are available to help. We truly appreciate our parent volunteers and Field Day would not be possible without your support!

On Friday, June 5th, Vista will be hosting our Spring Sing Concert. The performance schedule is as follows: 4th Grade from 8:30–9:00 a.m., 2nd Grade from 9:10–9:40 a.m., and 3rd Grade from 11:00–11:30 a.m. We invite you to join us in celebrating our students’ hard work and enjoying the wonderful performances made possible by Mr. R, who works tirelessly to share the joy of music with our students.

Warmly,

Grace Yang
