Superintendent's Weekly Message | | |
We are beyond grateful for your overwhelming participation and support in this year’s Skechers Friendship Foundation Walk! Thanks to your dedication, we achieved a record-breaking milestone, raising an incredible $269,812.00 for the Hermosa Beach Education Foundation (HBEF).
This funding is vital in supporting our schools and providing exceptional programs that would not be possible through state funding alone. Your commitment to our students’ education ensures they continue to benefit from enriched learning experiences that shape their futures.
A heartfelt thank you to every student, family, teacher, and community member who walked in person or virtually, donated, and championed this cause. An extra shout-out to our HBEF Skechers Walk chairpersons, Tricia Scaglione and Joyce Chaput. Your efforts make a lasting impact, and we are so fortunate to be part of such a generous and engaged community.
With gratitude,
Dr. Susan Wildes
Superintendent of Schools, Hermosa Beach City School District

I want to take a moment to ask for your support with our Morning Valet Volunteer Program. Our goal is to transition staff out of valet duty so they can focus on preparing for the school day. To make this possible, we need four (4) parent volunteers each morning (Monday-Friday, 8:20-8:40 AM).
This is a simple yet essential role—opening car doors, assisting students with backpacks, and helping them start their day smoothly and safely. It’s also a great way to connect with other parents and be an active part of our school community.
Parents/Guardians can sign up for as many days as they’d like from March 17 to April 11. By volunteering for Morning Valet, your students may enter campus at 8:20 AM, and supervision will be provided in the bowl and playground.
We also need extra help during lunch and recess! If Morning Valet doesn't work for your schedule, consider volunteering to support students during their break times.
