Blessing of the Animals on the Feast of Saint Francis (October 4th)

The righteous care for the needs of their animals. -Proverbs 12:10

Blessed are you, Giver of Life, who makes all things good.

You called forth life that filled the sea, land, and sky.

You inspired Saint Francis to call all creatures brothers and sisters.

We ask you to bless all of earth's creatures.

And we especially ask you to bless our pets.

Empower them to be good dogs, cuddly cats, and loyal companions.

Finally, give us a reverence for all living things

and the beauty of creation.

Blessed are you, Lord our God, in all creatures great and small!

Amen
