Greetings!

Hope you’re doing well. It’s been one helluva start to 2026.

We wanted to share a quick update on what the Red Horse DC team has been working on.

Over the past year, we moved accountability fights into earned media by exposing the real-world consequences of policy decisions.

That work, in partnership with allies and state leaders, generated sustained earned media coverage across multiple states — from SNAP cuts and rural economic pressures to rising health care costs and broader affordability challenges.

Through Americans for Contraception — co-founded in 2022 by RHS DC President Chris Fleming — we’ve led aggressive, state-by-state earned media and public affairs campaigns to advance legislation protecting contraception, privacy, accessibility, and reproductive care.

That work helped deliver wins in Nevada and Tennessee, strengthened efforts in Virginia, and forced the issue onto the agenda in Alabama, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

In November, Americans for Contraception led a five-country European tour highlighting how more than $10 million in contraceptives were left stranded in warehouses by the Trump administration, leaving women and girls in Africa without access. We were proud to work with International Planned Parenthood Federation, DSW Germany, Sensoa, The Danish Family Planning Association, Focus2030, Le Planning Familial, Equipop, Plan UK and MSI Reproductive Choices.

We were also proud to work alongside the Evers family to ensure that the commemoration of Medgar Wiley Evers’s 100th birthday honored his enduring legacy and highlighted its relevance in today’s struggles for justice.

In 2026 we are continuing are push to codify the right to contraception and the right to IVF into law, ensuring these protections are guaranteed. Just last week, Virginia advanced the Right to Contraception Act through the Senate, clearing a path to Governor Spanberger’s desk.

We are mounting major campaigns to ensure sexual health data remains private, grocery store prices remain fair, families get paid sick days and paid family medical leave as well as blowing the whistle on the GOP and Trump's war on affordability.

In addition to our issue advocacy and public affairs work, Red Horse delivers award-winning mail, television, and digital programs built to reach voters across mailboxes, screens, and devices.

It’d be good to catch up if you have some time.

Best,

– Chris Fleming & Ryan Rudominer
