Week of August 17th!

Check out OHgo's facebook page!

John's Usual --

Not much to report this week. The Kenilee Project is progressing. It will be tight, but we should be open for league bowling by the end of September & ready for open bowling to the public by later in October! Exciting stuff. I'm leaving the vote link button for the glow bowl carpet for anyone who's interested for one more week. Let us know what you think! I'm a little surprised actually, but so far people seem to like the pattern. It will be a dramatic change for sure.

Other than that, things are busy (as usual) with CLI, but good. We've been lucky to add a few new faces that you'll see in future newsletters. We're exploring potentially making some tweaks to our available schedule of activities in the community. It's often hard to let things go, but part of trying new things is that you have to back off some of the old things to make room.

Enjoy the tail end of your summer & have a good week!

John

What's new in THRIVE?

Zeth is the employee of the month!

Tracey is the star of the month!

We have been working on making signs for THRIVE Mart and everyone has been doing so great with this! We also have been working on the most common interview questions!

Firelands Local LLC

The workshop provides a safe space to learn new job task-- both to broaden abilities, but also to see what people like to do-- whether that's big "gross motor" tasks like baling cardboard and boatwrap, or "fine motor" tasks like product assembly.

CLI & FL work together to provide an array of employment training options both in the workshop and out in the community.

If any other Firelands Local employees (besides Andrew & Zeth) would like to be featured in this section of the newsletter-- send in your work pics!

The Latest from The Good Works Cafe (GWC)--

GWC Volunteers puts together a delicious & free community meal every Friday, served at the Norwalk Veteran's Memorial Lake Park Clubhouse!

CLI’s Good Works Cafe has had the privilege of serving the community with meals on a donation basis since 2020. We are thankful for all of the community partnerships and support we have had to make it this far. Quite honestly, we are struggling to keep up with the need for meals due to a shortage of donations. Unfortunately this means we will be limiting the max amount of meals per vehicle to five as of 8/1/2026. Every donation, no matter the size, helps to continue serving those in the community. Thank you for your kindness and support!

If you are able to help, here are some ways you can support us: non- perishable food items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, cooking/baking essentials, monetary donations to help purchase fresh ingredients or even sharing our message with others can make a meaningful difference!
