MAYOR'S UPDATE

From the desk of Mayor Rika Levin

I am thrilled to announce that Project MOVER will be at the Down to Earth Ossining Farmers Market on Saturday, April 12, from 8:30am to 1pm. They will be discussing the exciting new e-bike incentive program, which offers a $1,000 discount on an e-bike. This is a fantastic opportunity to embrace sustainable transportation and save money. The team will have e-bikes available to check out and program organizers to guide you through the application process. Don't miss out on this chance to join the e-bike revolution!

The Village of Ossining Board of Trustees has unanimously agreed to join together with 38 cities, towns, and villages across Westchester County to form a municipal consortium to oppose the latest proposed rate increases by Consolidated Edison (Con Edison). The consortium has retained special utility counsel who has already filed for the Village and the other participating municipalities to be Party to the Con Edison's electric and gas rate case and represent our interests before the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC). A technical consultant has also been hired by Mr. Dichter to review the volumes of data submitted by Con Edison to the PSC.

A press conference will also be held on this matter this Thursday afternoon in Briarcliff Manor.

As valued members of our community, your voice matters. Con Ed customers are strongly encouraged to sign up to comment on the proposed Con Edison rate increases at a virtual public statement hearing to be held by the NYS Department of Public Service (NYSDPS) on Wednesday, April 9, at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Your participation is vital, and to make a public statement, you must register one day prior to the virtual public statement hearing. For more information on the rate case and how to register to comment, visit the NYSDPS website here.
