The Sterling Heights Beautification Commission will sponsor its annual Plant Exchange on Saturday, May 11 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Sterling Heights Nature Center, located at 42700 Utica Rd.

The free "green" event allows gardeners to exchange plants of various varieties. Participants may package their plants in plastic bags, pots, boxes or other small containers!

Those exchanging plants can make up cards giving the plant's name, brief description and care instructions. Gardeners may also bring gardening magazines and books to exchange or donate.

Selling of plants is not permitted.
As the City of Sterling Heights continue to increase our tree canopy within the city of Sterling Heights and enhance sustainability efforts throughout the city, we celebrate our 39th consecutive “Tree City USA” designation by the Arbor Day Foundation.

To acknowledge the upcoming Arbor and Earth Days, City Council recently planted a tree at the Library and officially cut the ribbon for the recent addition of outdoor musical instruments outside the Library for all to enjoy.
