MORE THAN 150 WOMEN RAISED
HAMMERS, PAINTBRUSHES AND $225,000+
For Habitat For Humanity Of South Palm Beach County’s
2021 Women Build Presented By Moraca Builders
Getting out in the “fresh air” to give “a fresh start” hand-up to a hard-working, low-income widowed mom of four sons, more than 150 women participated in an annual “experiential fundraiser like no other" during “a year like no other”: Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County’s 2021 Women Build presented by Moraca Builders, Inc. This year’s roster boasted more than 20 corporate and volunteer “builder” teams and dozens of individual fundraisers who collectively raised more than $225,000, surpassing this year’s goal by 50%.
This year HFHSPBC’s “Sisterhood of the Pink Hard Hat” annual women-only initiative that uniquely combined experiential fundraising with “camaraderie-of-a-rare-kind,” offered Safe2Build options to “build it their way” on a home for South Palm Beach County native Suzie Michel, a widowed mom with four young sons ages 4 to 11. Suzie currently lives in an overcrowded, unsafe neighborhood where the rent is unaffordable. She has been working as a property manager in Delray Beach for three years and committed to fulfilling 300 “sweat equity” hours and 100 hours of financial literacy and homeownership curriculum required to qualify for a zero-interest HFHSPBC mortgage to purchase her Habitat home.
Pleased to report that the DREAM GIRLS Team led by KCOM-PR President
& Chief Strategy Officer Bonnie Kaye "rolled up their sleeves" and secured the most donations to earn them the "Top Fundraising Team" Award. Bonnie and her team members appreciate the support of all their family, friends, and colleagues who donated.

ANNUAL WHITE COATS-4-CARE
SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER
Returns In-Person at FAU on Wednesday, August 4
Co-Chaired by KCOM-PR Principals
Jon and Bonnie Kaye for 11 Consecutive Years
Following 17 months of unprecedented challenges, Florida Atlantic University’s Schmidt College of Medicine will return to hosting its annual White Coats-4-Care (WC4C) major scholarship fundraiser in person on campus. The reception will be held at FAU on Wednesday, August 4 at 6:00 p.m. in the new Owl's Perch in the Schmidt Family Complex for Academic and Athletic Excellence.
“Now more than ever, raising medical scholarship funds is an essential mission,” shared Co-Chair Jon Kaye, who with Kaye Communications (KCOM-PR) partner Bonnie Kaye has co-chaired WC4C for 11 consecutive years since its inception. “As FAU returns to in-person classes and a fully open campus in the fall, it will be poignant and inspiring to gather as a community to raise scholarship funds to support the incoming class of the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine.”
With the average cost of a medical education reaching $250,000 in-state to $400,000 out-of-state, 80-85% of the College’s talented students require financial assistance. "By sponsoring a white coat or higher donor level, you allow students the ability to follow their hearts, not their debts into lifelong medical careers, added Co-chair Bonnie Kaye.
