Palette Palooza Success!
A heartfelt thank you to the guardians who joined us for Palette Palooza, creating a night of creativity and connection. Special kudos to our Art Coordinator, Kat, for orchestrating an engaging paint session that resonated with guardians and youth alike. Kat's commitment to fostering a love for fine arts within our Club is commendable. As we reflect on the success of Palette Palooza, we're excited about the momentum it has generated. Reseda Elementary
At Reseda, our soccer program, guided by Coach Sadi's leadership, has experienced tremendous success. On average, 17 enthusiastic members actively participate, honing their soccer skills and fostering connections with their peers. The program is designed to run for the entire semester. It will end with a final soccer game that showcases the progress and teamwork developed throughout the weeks of training. What sets this program apart is the palpable excitement exhibited by the kids throughout the week. Their enthusiasm is not confined to the final game but resonates in the daily activities and interactions, creating a vibrant and positive atmosphere. It's this genuine excitement and the sense of community built under Coach Sadi's guidance that truly makes the Reseda soccer program a unique and rewarding experience for all involved. As we look forward to the final soccer game at the end of the semester, we celebrate not just the skills acquired on the field but the lasting connections strengthened among our young athletes.

Blythe Elementary
The members participate in arts and crafts daily. Members at this site include Blythe students enrolled in Tk through 5th grade. One of the fun aspects of our Blythe program is that students from the community not enrolled at Blythe are also welcome to join us after the school bell rings, as this is a 21st Century Community Learning Center site. If you'd like to have your child join the program, click the enroll button below. This program runs consistently throughout the school year.

Justice St. Elementary
At Justice Street Elementary, Triple play is our most popular program, and we've recently added excitement with coaches versus members contests. The members are thoroughly enjoying it, displaying their competitive spirit and giving their all. Site Coordinator, Kenya said, "The highlight of my day is witnessing the increased involvement from both the members and the coaches." The coaches actively participate by engaging in games like handball, kickball, and various other activities. All of this creates a dynamic and fun environment for everyone.

Woodland Hills Elementary
This month, our Boys and Girls Club at Woodland HIlls Elementary opened up to serve 4th graders! As part of our activities we hosted a promotional table to connect with prospective parents and members after schhol. The table included our calendar of activities and upcoming events, as well as information on the programs that will be offered throughout this semester with partners like the Discovery CUBE.

|
Teen Center
Our Teen Center members actively participate in basketball. On a typical day you can find about 20 youth participating, of those 20 about 5 are on actual teams outside BGCWV. Daniel shared, "It's exciting to see how those with greater experience are sharing their knowledge with the others at the Club, which showcases their sportsmanship during the games they play." The purpose of sports for our members is to learn how to work as a team to overcome adversity and to release energy and tension in a healthy and controlled way. Sports run every Tuesday.

Canoga Park High School
In January we were dedicated to assisting students with their financial aid process. We facilitated various workshops to educate students and provide them with the information they will need to obtain from their guardians. Our staff participated in various professional development opportunities throughout the month to learn about the new application processes and opportunities. Samantha expressed, "I'm excited to see our staff share their knowledge with our members who are exploring college for next fall."

Gary M. Thomas Clubhouse
This year, we're turning up the excitement by conducting hands-on experiments that promise a little mess and a lot of magic. Because really, what's the fun in science if your experiments don't get a bit messy? From erupting volcanoes to playful chemistry, our clubhouse is the place where young minds explore, create, and revel in the joy of STEM. Join us on this thrilling journey as we make learning a messy, memorable, and marvelous experience for every budding scientist!

Cleveland High School
We were so excited to welcome our members back this month. As a way to encourage members to participate throughout the month of January, our team hosted a Winter Welcome Back Pizza party on the 27th. Members played Kahoot a Trivia game testing their knowledge of Club information, site-specific activities, music, movies, history events, and so much more!

Calabash Elementary
At Calabash Charter Academy, our members recently learned all about sloths and their cool homes in the wild. After diving into the sloth's world, our students took on a fun challenge: create a cozy and sturdy home for their sloth pals. It was hands-on learning at its best! Armed with sloth facts and a dash of creativity, our young builders crafted imaginative sanctuaries. The excitement was contagious, and as they proudly showcased their sloth homes, it was clear – at Calabash Charter Academy, we turn learning into playful adventures!
