NOTIFICATION OF PHISHING ATTEMPTS

It has come to our attention that malicious individuals are impersonating our staff, and sending phishing texts/emails to members of St. Paul's. We want to ensure that you are well-informed and protected from these fraudulent attempts.

The perpetrators behind these communications are using the trusted name of St. Paul's staff to mislead you into revealing sensitive information, such as financial details or personal data, which can be used for fraudulent activities.

To safeguard yourself from falling victim to these phishing attempts, here are some important guidelines:

  • Verify the sender: If you receive a text/email from St. Paul's clergy or staff, please take a moment to confirm its legitimacy. If you have any doubts, please phone the church office (317.253.1277) or contact the sender directly through a known and trusted contact method.
  • Avoid clicking links: Please do not click on any links or download attachments from texts/emails that seem suspicious or request personal information.
  • Be skeptical of requests: Please be cautious about responding to any requests for money, gift cards, or personal information via text/email messages, especially if the request seems out of the ordinary.
  • Report suspicious texts: If you receive a suspicious text/email, please report it to your mobile service provider or the relevant authorities to help prevent further scams.

It is important to note that St. Paul's clergy and staff will never request personal or financial information via text message or email. Any such requests should be viewed with suspicion.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to reach out to the church office.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
