Being involved in the conversation of our clients' industry is key to understanding the business of their business. Determining where you can enter that conversation depends on your level of expertise in their business.

Regardless of your level of expertise, the one thing we can all contribute to the conversation is our perspective on storytelling and brand positioning within it. There is a new narrative happening right now and your clients need your guidance to navigate through it. So get out there and get involved in the conversation.
Here are a few ways to jump into the conversation:

Identify the industry trade publishers and associations to explore the virtual events and webinars they'll be hosting for the rest of the year.

Identify the speaker and topic trends among these publishers and associations to help inform the relevant conversation happening now.

Do your homework on those topics and be prepared with an opinion, or even the implications of them, relevant to the client prospects on your radar.
Do your best to be included as an advisor or participant in as many of these virtual events/webinars as you can until we start gathering again.

Check out how we helped one agency work into the conversation of a new vertical through trade show attendance. Remember Trade Shows, don't worry, they'll be back, for now the strategy holds for virtual gatherings.
“Engaging in the conversation of your client’s business is a great way to demonstrate your expertise in that vertical.”
