What’s Your Favorite Color?
When it comes to our quilting fabric, most of us can answer that right away. We like what we like and given a chance we buy lots of it in every tint and shade. For the last year, some guild members chose to be challenged and have been playing with one particular color not of their choosing and, unless very lucky, not their favorite. To all these bravehearted Challenge quilters, we salute you! An exciting feast of colors awaits us at the October meetings…and maybe someone has been playing with your favorite color!

| | MYSTERY PAINT CHIP CHALLENGE | | |
Our challenge quilts for the Mystery Paint Chip Challenge will be revealed in October...and we'll learn about next year's Challenge, too!
Mystery Paint Chip Challenge quilts must be entered online by midnight Monday, October 26. The Challenge Committee will use this time to create a slide presentation for both meetings so all members can vote on their favorite quilts.
Bring your Mystery Paint Chip Challenge quilt to either of the October meetings. Quilts brought to the Thursday Evening Group meeting will be held over until the Friday morning Guild meeting. Plan to arrive 30 minutes early so we can get the quilts ready for viewing. After the October meetings, all members can vote online for their favorite quilts. Awards will be made at the December meeting.
Click here to read all the details on the challenge rules, entering your quilt online, preparing it for the meetings, and the Guild-wide vote to select the winning quilts.

Bees are actively seeking new members!
West Cobb Bee meets on October 15 and November 12, starting at noon at the North Cobb Regional Library (3535 Old US Hwy 41 NW, Kennesaw). Most people bring handwork, but there is plenty of table space for cutting or planning and great access to electricity for machines.
The Threadheads Bee meets the second Thursday of the month, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., at the leader's house.
Subject matter: Bee Groups have been very successful, and we are wondering whether enough members are interested in starting a Hand Sewing Applique Bee or an English Paper Piecing Bee.
If you are interested in either new subject-matter Bee, another subject, or one of the above Bee Groups, please contact the Queen Bee Committee Chair here.

Another Golden Scissors award is in the books for Nora Whisenant. Nora’s quilt, “Jelly Roll Sizzle,” is a delightful quilt with its stripes and pinwheels. She’s very productive and we enjoy seeing her work.
Thanks to Teresa Kent for filling in for Meridith Mask while Meridith was on vacation.
| | To qualify for Golden Scissors, your quilt must have a perimeter of at least 280 inches, be made entirely by one person, and be submitted within one year of completion. A Golden Thimble will be awarded if that same quilt is hand-quilted. | | | Check out the "Events" tab of the ECQG website and plan some fun! | | IMPORTANT LINKS TO GUILD BUSINESS | | Check out our financial statements and meeting minutes at the links below.
