OKC Thunder Dedicates 20th Court in Enid
The City of Enid recently welcomed representatives from the OKC Thunder basketball organization, along with the Thunder Cares Foundation, to dedicate a new Thunder court.  This court represents the 20th that has been opened, in conjunction with the Thunder organization, across Oklahoma.

Representatives from the Thunder, Enid Mayor Bill Shewey, Thunder mascot Rumble, Thunder Drummers, the Thunder girls, and Enid City Council members took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony that also included children from the Enid area.

Congratulations to Enid for opening this new basketball court which will serve Enid area kids and citizens for decades to come.

Broken Arrow Receives the 2018 City Livability Award
The U.S. Conference of Mayors has recognized the City of Broken Arrow as the ‘most livable’ small town in the U.S. at its recent conference. Mayor Craig Thurmond accepted the award in recognition of the redevelopment of the downtown Rose District.

The award recognizes mayoral leadership in developing and implementing programs that improve the community’s quality of life and economic development.  Broken Arrow was selected from more than 150 applicants from across the U.S.

Revitalization of the downtown area began about 7 years ago.  Since that time many new businesses have invested over $25 million, resulting in an enhanced quality of life for Broken Arrow residence, more than 1,000 new jobs, an increase in property taxes of nearly $4 million, and an increase of municipal sales tax of 2,025 percent.

Congratulations to the City of Broken Arrow for receiving this prestigious award!
