DISTRICT 4-H CALENDER


August 

  • 1st – KJLS Entries OPEN - Click Here
  • 5th – SFCO 4-H Council Meeting at 6:00pm in the St. John Extension Office  
  • 7th – 4-H Wheat Expo in Hutchinson Register here 
  • 8th – Final day to notify the Extension Office about State Fair participation. 
  • 12th – YAC Trip in Hutchinson 
  • 15th – Kansas Junior Livestock Show (KJLS) Deadline 
  • 23rd & 24th – Livestock Sweepstakes in Manhattan 
  • 25th – EDCO 4-H Council Meeting at 7:00 pm in the Kinsley Fairbuilding  
  • 28th – State Fair Entries must be submitted to the office.

September 

  • All Clubs should elect officers and council members!! 
  • Edwards County: Cloverbuds every Thursday from 3:45 – 5:00 pm

  • 4th - All State Fair food entries must be submitted to the office by 8:00 am
  • 5th to 14th – Kansas State Fair 
  • 22 & 23 – Designated Recordbook help in Extension Offices 
  • 28th – Officer Training in Kinsley at 2:00 pm in the Kinsley Fairbuilding 

October 

  • 1st – Record Books, Pin Applications, & Club Seals DUE in the Extension Offices --- See below for what's new for this year
  • 1st - Kansas 4-H Youth Leadership Council Application Deadline 
  • 3rd to 5th – KJLS 
  • 5th to 11th – National 4-H Week 
  • 11th & 12th – 48Hrs of 4-H 

November 

  • 20th – Edwards County Food Sort (Tentative Date) 
  • 22nd – 23rd – Kansas Youth Leadership Forum (KYLF) in Rock Springs 
  • 24th – Edwards County Food Pick-up (Tentative Date) 

December 

  • 13th – District Wide Livestock Project Planning Meeting in the St. John Extension Office (Tentative Date) 
  • 18th - Edwards County Food Sort (Tentative Date) 
  • 22nd - Edwards County Food Pick-up (Tentative Date) 

February 

  • 14th – District Wide Club Day 8:00a.m. - Noon (Location TBD)

Stafford County: Thursday, August 5, 2025 at the St John Extension Office at 5:30 pm

Edwards County: Monday, August 25, 2025 with Northern Star hosting at 7 pm

Reminder to send Thank you Letters/Cards! We want our buyers and supporters to continue their support, so please show them your appreciation! 

If you need any cards, we have some in the office! 
  • Reminder must be 9 and older as of Jan 1, 2025, to participate 
  • If you received a purple ribbon at county fair or club day your exhibit qualifies for the state fair Visual Arts, shopping in style, fashion review, and livestock all have other exceptions
  • Kansas State Fair Handbook
  • Must let the office know by Friday, August the 8th if you would like to participate in the state fair 
  • Must have exhibits in the extension offices by Thursday, August 28th  
  • All foods entries need to be in the extension offices by 8:00 am Thursday, September 4th

  • Application Signature page All applications must be entered online and in one setting, you cannot go back and make edits. Use the application template above to plan your answers ahead of time.
  • Applications are due by midnight on Wednesday, October 1st 
  • Delegates will be selected at KYLF

Edwards County: 

  • Must be 100% complete & turned in by the deadline to participate in the 2026 Edwards County Fair Premium Auction 


Stafford County: 

  • Must be 100% complete & turned in by the deadline to be eligible for the 4-H Council Scholarship
