Poor Ellen Smith band this Friday, April 21, 7 to 9pm
Vintage Country in a Vintage Venue
April 18, 2023
Hello dear Friends,
The Poor Ellen Smith band took on the name of the famous ballad about a girl that found a tragic death in Winston-Salem in 1892. While based on a real event, ballads have a way of muddling facts as they are retold in song. So do many ballads in the late 1890ies, think of Tom Dooley, and that is just 10 years or so before our own church building on 122 West Potomac Street came into existence. Please join us and listen to old time ballads, Americana and country songs so very well performed by the very fine Poor Ellen Smith band. Live music starts at 7pm and there is a $10 cover at the door which goes to the band to support Live Music!
Come early for a hometown "evening out" and enjoy dinner and a cold beer. Our desserts are scrumptious and go well with our handcrafted espresso drinks or a bottle of delicious white or red wine, even some fabulous flavored mead. Our seating is comfy and our baristas and Brunswick regulars will make you feel at home.
Outdoor seating and dining al fresco
We are so delighted that our customers are enjoying sidewalk dining in the shade and garden seating in the sun - as the changing April weather allows. Order inside and we'll bring everything to your table, or use our weborder app.
