Blessings, Saints Families,

As we welcome a new school year filled with new classes and friendships, we want to address an important aspect of campus life: student parking.

To help minimize our impact on neighboring communities, Crean Lutheran High School issues parking permits to as many Juniors and Seniors as possible. We initially issue a conservative number of permits to evaluate the parking flow across both our main campus and the Athletic Complex (6301 Portola Parkway), ensuring daily operations run smoothly.

Space is limited; therefore, some students who applied did not receive a permit, while others did not apply. For these students, legal off-site street parking is the primary alternative.

Important Neighborhood Update: One nearby community frequently used for off-site parking has modified its access points. The side pedestrian gate leading to Spring Meadow is now permanently locked for residential use only. As a result, the walking route for students parking in this area has increased, as the only exit is now through Medallion to Spring Meadow.

Next Steps & Looking Ahead:

• Permit Reopening: The parking application is temporarily closed for the first three weeks of school while we make necessary adjustments from the initial application window. We will reopen the application after this period and aim to accommodate as many additional students as possible.
• Permit Requirement: Before completing the parking permit application, students must attend an Irvine Police Department SMART START presentation. The schedule for these presentations is located on our website. You do not have to be a junior or senior to attend, and you only have to attend once to receive credit for your entire time here at Crean Lutheran High School.
• Long-Term Solution: Our administration is actively working with contractors on plans for a future parking structure to provide a lasting solution for our growing community.

We appreciate your patience, understanding, and prayers as we work through these logistics to best serve our Saints family.

In Christ,

Jacob Groves
