Autism Connections
June 6-12 | Issue 63
PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT
Severe Autism Support Group
Join other parents/caregivers of children and adults who are significantly impacted by autism to share experiences as parents, advocates, cheerleaders, teachers, detectives, and so much more during our support group tomorrow, Tuesday, June 7, from 9:30 – 11 a.m. ET on Zoom.

*Severe. Profound. Significantly Impacted. These are just some of the terms used to describe people with autism who require the most intensive supports. We realize there is no consensus on how to best describe this segment of the spectrum because it is a complex issue involving multiple factors. The intention of this group is to help parents & caregivers have a space to talk through the challenges and successes of caring for someone with autism.

Join us for an open conversation to share ideas and brainstorm together about activities for people with disabilities - for this summer and beyond. These sessions are free to the public, and all are welcome to attend!

We will talk about:
  • The fear of re-entry into the community and outside of your home since COVID-19.
  • What are the possibilities? How can we use a different way of thinking?
  • Are there new opportunities to try this summer and beyond?
  • What resources are available in the community that can help us lead a good life?
  • Building a new routine.
