THE HELP OF GOD

"He sent from above, He took me, He drew me out of many waters." 2 Samuel 22: 17(NKJV)

Beloved Adura,

Our theme for the month of November has been - 'Out of Many Waters', it has been awesome as we discussed the trajectory of David's life and what led him to make the statement in 2 Samuel 22:17.

David was a man helped by God and he knew without any doubt that he was nothing without God's help. After a deep reflection on his life, David concluded that he is who he is because of the help of God. One of the interesting events in David's life was when Ziklag was attacked and burnt down by the Amalekites in 1 Samuel 30:1-8. The bible records that David and his men wept until they had no more strength. Picture in your mind how tragic it was for mighty men of valor to be depressed, dismayed, and dishelmed.

To crown that up, the men decided that David was the cause of their misfortune and thought to stone him. I don't know what battles are raging against you - maybe it is in your health, finances, academic, marriage, or over your children, and you have put the blame on others or even yourself, I have good news for you, the Almighty God will look down from heaven, take hold of you and draw you out of that messy water in Jesus name, Amen.

However, in the midst of this unpleasant situation, David knew who to turn to for rescue and direction. The bible says after David had encouraged himself(enough of the pity party and blames), he asked for the ephod (a symbol of worship and God's presence) and inquired of the Lord.

Who do you call on in time of trouble? Are you like Saul seeking help from men(your big uncles/aunties or connections) and other mediums(your job, qualifications, or wealth)? Every other source outside of God will fail, remember vain is the help of men. Isaiah 26:3 tells us that he will keep in PERFECT PEACE those whose heart are stayed on him because they put their trust in him.

The Father is waiting if only you will ASK for his help!

Join us on December 1-3, 2021 as we fast and pray, bringing all our requests to the Father as the year comes to an end.

THINK TANK: Does the presence of storms connote that God is not with us ?

PRAYER POINT:

Father, we thank you because you are mindful of us, we pray that as we go through this week and enter into the new month, you will look from above and draw us out of many waters in Jesus name, Amen.
