Join us as we welcome

Wells Daniel Stauffer

child of Dan & Alison Stauffer, into the Lord's family through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism.

We give thanks to God for His gift of grace and pray that Wells will grow in faith and remain steadfast in Christ throughout his life.

In this week's message, we look at the famous account from the Gospel of Matthew where Jesus walks on the water. While the disciples find themselves stranded and terrified by a sudden storm at sea, Jesus appears to them walking across the waves. This miracle displays His complete divine authority over creation, demonstrating that even the most chaotic forces of the world are under His feet. When Peter steps out in faith but begins to sink due to fear, Jesus immediately reaches out to save him. Ultimately, this powerful event calls us to trust in Christ's presence rather than looking at the overwhelming storms around us.

Do you enjoy fresh flowers?

Each week the altar is beautified with fresh flowers given by individuals of St. John’s congregation. Flowers may be given in memory or in honor of someone or some occasion, in thanksgiving of something, or to the glory of God. The flowers may be taken home after the Sunday services for you to enjoy at home or perhaps share with a loved one or someone you wish to share an invitation to worship at St. John’s. The Flower Chart for 2026 is posted in the narthex on the left brick pillar as you walk into the sanctuary. Flowers are $65 for two arrangements. If you wish to sign up for a particular Sunday and someone else has already signed up, we invite you to sign up in addition to another person giving flowers—you can split the $65 cost with the person signed up or purchase an additional two arrangements for $65. Multiple floral arrangements to beautify the altar are always welcome! A member of the Altar Guild will contact you in advance for your dedication.

Stewardship Thought:

STEWARDS OF TIME

How should we use our time? (It is not really ours, you know). We take time for granted as though it will always be there for us. Wrong!

As Christians we recognize that time is a gift from God because He created us and started our earthly clock with His incredible gift of life.

The major question becomes, “How do we treat it?”

According to author Steve Poole, “We cannot spend time or save it. We can only try to figure out how to live better inside it.”

Now, there's a good stewardship thought!

SCHOOL NEWS

Only 2 more weeks until we welcome all of our wonderful students, both new and returning, back to school!
