For Generations to Come:

The Legacy We’re Building Together

Greetings!

What does it mean to leave a legacy? At Trinity, it looks like a student who receives the opportunity to serve and grow in faith. It looks like a volunteer who makes coffee early on Sunday mornings so others feel welcome. And it looks like a church family choosing to invest in the people and ministries that will carry our faith into the future. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been sharing stories that bring our stewardship theme, For Generations to Come, to life.

Generosity That Makes a Difference

For Sergio, a scholarship to attend Trinity’s summer mission trip and camp opened the door to experiences he might not have had otherwise. Through serving with ARM, building friendships, and growing closer to God, he discovered how one act of generosity can make a lasting impact. Now, he’s giving back by serving with Treehouse Worship and helping the next generation grow in faith. His story reminds us that what we give can do more than meet a need today. It can create opportunities, strengthen faith, and shape the people who will serve others tomorrow.

Making Room for People to Belong

Charlie’s story reminds us that a legacy is also built through the everyday moments that make a church feel like home. From making coffee and greeting guests to helping with worship and serving at Square One, Charlie shows up week after week because he wants people to know they are welcome and important at Trinity. Sometimes, the smallest acts of service make the biggest difference. A warm welcome, a cup of coffee, or a willingness to help can be the beginning of someone finding a place to belong.

Both stories show us that stewardship is about more than money. It’s about how we use the time, gifts, resources, and opportunities God has entrusted to us to care for others and strengthen the church.

What Will We Pass On?

As we continue For Generations to Come, we’ll look more closely at what it means to be faithful stewards of what God has placed in our hands. We’ll consider how we honor the legacy we’ve received, how we care for the trust placed in us, and how our choices today can shape the faith and future of those who come after us.

These conversations lead us toward Commitment Sunday on November 8, when we’ll have the opportunity to prayerfully consider how we will support Trinity’s ministry in the year ahead.

Our commitments are about more than meeting a budget. They help sustain the worship, care, outreach, and faith-forming experiences through which people encounter Jesus and discover their place in God’s work. They help us keep creating opportunities for children and students to grow, welcoming people who are searching for a church home, and serving our neighbors with the love of Christ.

As Trinity looks toward the generations to come, each of us has a part to play. Whether through financial generosity, faithful service, or the way we care for the people around us, we are building something that reaches beyond ourselves.

What has God entrusted to us, and what will we pass on?

That’s the question at the heart of For Generations to Come. As November 8 approaches, take time to reflect, pray, and consider how you can help carry Trinity’s mission forward for the people who will come after us.

Remembering Our Saints

On Sunday, November 1, Trinity will observe All Saints Sunday, a time to remember with gratitude the lives of those we love and to give thanks for the ways they shaped our faith and our church family. This year, we will honor Donna Giovanini, David Gray, Clint Johnson, Donald Litke, Fred Owens, Pamela Patton, Pete Roake, Jerry Ross, Don Sherrow, Peggy Willard, Ronald Woerl, Foley Wood, and Mary Parker. We hold their families and loved ones close in our hearts and prayers, recognizing that grief is a reflection of love and that each life leaves a lasting imprint on the people who remain.

In Revelation 7:9-17, we are given a vision of a great multitude gathered before the throne of God, where sorrow and suffering will be no more, and God will wipe away every tear. This promise offers comfort as we remember those who have gone before us in faith. As United Methodists, we give thanks for the communion of saints, the connection we share in Christ with those living and those who have died. We remember their stories, celebrate the faith they passed on, and trust them to the loving care of God. Even in our sadness, we hold on to the hope of resurrection and the promise that death does not have the final word. Their lives remain part of the story God continues to write through Trinity, for generations to come.

YOUR WEDNESDAY JUST GOT BETTER!

Life gets busy. Weeks fly by. And sometimes, the things that matter most get pushed to the bottom of the calendar. That’s why Midweek Connect is back!

Wednesday nights at Trinity become a place to pause, connect, and grow. Start the evening around the table with a great dinner, then find a place to connect with others and grow in your faith. Adults can participate in Bible studies, students have their own Student Ministry experience, kids enjoy fun and faith-filled programming, and children ages 0–5 are cared for in the nursery.

Make Wednesday Nights a Rhythm

The first Wednesday of each month is a free potluck dinner, so bring a favorite dish or dessert to share! Dinner is $10 per person or $30 per family. Whether you're looking for deeper faith, stronger friendships, or simply a consistent place to connect each week, there’s something waiting for you at Midweek Connect.

JESUS & JUMP SCARES

Everything In Between: A Trinity UMC Podcast

Jesus & Jump Scares

What happens when you mix a haunted house, a few screams, and a whole lot of community spirit?

In this episode of Everything In Between, we're hanging out with the team behind the Wentz Brothers Festival of Fears to talk about the spooky fun that brings people together and the faith that inspires them to serve.

From building a haunted house that keeps people coming back to creating a place where neighbors can connect, we explore how community events can open doors to meaningful relationships. We also talk about what it means to live out your faith outside the walls of the church and how something as unexpected as a Halloween event can help people experience genuine hospitality and God's love.

AROUND THE CHURCH

Trinity has hosted an annual Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinner/Lunch for our community, and we’re currently looking for an individual or group interested in taking responsibility for planning and coordinating this year’s event.

The person or group who takes on the planning would have the flexibility to shape the event in a way that works for them, including changing the format, approach, or other details of the dinner.

As we look ahead to this year, the dinner will need someone to step into a leadership role to make the event possible. If no one is able to take on that role, we’ll take a break from hosting the dinner this year and reevaluate the event moving forward.

If this is something you’d enjoy taking on, we’d love to hear from you! Whether you already have ideas for a new approach or simply want to learn more about what’s involved, please reach out to MaKenzie Johnson as soon as possible. We’d be happy to talk through the possibilities with you.

Volunteers Needs for our Fall Festival

with Our Preschool Families - Oct. 30

This year, we’re putting a new spin on our annual Boo Bash! Instead of hosting one big event on our property, we’re taking the fun directly to our Trinity Methodist Preschool families.

This is a chance for Trinity to show up, have some fun, and let our preschool families know just how much we love being part of their lives. We’ll have simple activities for the kids, games, candy, and plenty of festive fun.

We’re looking for volunteers to help make it happen by running a game or activity, decorating classroom doors in Building B (our Fellowship Hall building), or passing out candy.

You don’t have to plan a whole event or commit to a huge volunteer role. We’re simply looking for people who are willing to show up, have fun, and help us make our preschool families feel welcomed and loved.

If you are interested in being a part of this day, please complete the form below or contact MaKenzie Johnson as soon as possible.

Come help us bring a little Trinity fun to the fall festivities!
