October 29

Some of you may remember when we invited Treehouse to speak at a Chamber luncheon a couple of years ago. It was very moving to hear from a teen who talked about how this program helped them. This town hall next week features some leaders in our community and is going to talk about ways the community can support some of our teens in need.

November 6

Month 2 in the books!

We completed month #2 of Leadership Lakeville last week! Our Facilitator, Pat Arling, recapped month 1 with the group and got feedback we can use going forward. A huge shout our to our series sponsor, Loeffler Construction & Consulting, and to Jennifer from Green Mill for donating some incredible boxed lunches. If you are looking for something to wow your next lunch meeting you have to check these out. I recommend the Millhouse Club!

  1. Leadership Training: Sheri Stolp, of the Stolp Group, talked with us about sensitivity training from several angles and gave us tips and tricks for handling hard conversations related to various topics. Sheri is a long-time Lakeville resident and supports businesses with HR-related needs, including one-on-one coaching and group supervisory training (monthly lunch/learns or onsite workshops) covering different leadership topics. She also provides new/revised employee handbooks, hiring assessments, and performance management tools – like annual reviews, progressive discipline forms. She facilitates small groups of HR professionals as well – click HERE for more information!
  2. Community Panel - A huge thank you to Laurie Bolin (360 Communities & Lakeville Rotary), Tara Lashley (The Open Door Food Pantry), Shanen Corlett (Lakeville Public Safety Foundation), and Paul Jacobus (Lakeville Lions & Pan-O-Prog) for sharing about the various non-profits and service organizations in our community. Part of our Leadership Lakeville program is 4 hours of community service and there are so many ways to give back through these, and so many other, organizations in Lakeville!

Less than three weeks away!

JUDGES NEEDED!

The Lakeville North DECA club is in search of volunteers to help pre-judge students to get them ready for their January district competition. No experience or background needed, you will get all you need when you get there. I have done his multiple times and it is a neat experience to use your professional skills and experience to guide them in this process.
