Dear AL Families, 

We are excited to announce the launch of Stopfinder, a free and secure app that will allow our families to track their child’s bus in real time. The app will provide bus stop and schedule details, customizable alerts, and direct two-way communication with our transportation office.

The full district launch is scheduled for next week. A soft launch is planned this week for select routes: Armour #4 and #8, Cherry #4, and Oak #8. Families of students on these select routes will receive an invitation email by the end of the day. Other bus families can expect those invitation emails on Friday night. 

Starting next week, the weekly bus emails will be replaced by the Stopfinder app. 

Stopfinder works seamlessly with our district’s routing system. This integration allows district transportation leaders to send targeted communications only to the families affected by specific routes or delays. For example, if a road is closed and a bus will be late, only the families on that route will receive the update.

To get started, parents and guardians should check their email for an invitation to join the Académie Lafayette district on the app (tonight for soft launch routes, Friday for all other routes). The primary email address currently on file with the district will be used for Stopfinder setup. If you need to update your email, please update Form 03R. Student Guardians and Emergency Contacts in PowerSchool. Only authorized users will have access to their child’s bus information, ensuring a secure experience. The invitation will come from no-reply@stopfinder.com, titled “Your Academie Lafayette Stopfinder Invitation.” Once the account is created, the primary contact will be able to invite other family members to view student information on Stopfinder.

We believe Stopfinder will play a critical role in improving bus communication by keeping families up to date instantly and providing a direct line to the transportation office.
