New Year, New Decade
With the holiday season officially winding down, the Village is looking ahead to a big year. The $3.69M in grant money that was awarded in December will bolster our journey to strengthening our infrastructure and economic development goals.
One of the smallest dollar amounts of grant money will be instrumental in facilitating one of the greatest changes for Ossining. A significant component of the Parking Feasibility and Planning Study will be to understand how best to create additional parking in the village lots that are bordered by Brandreth Street and Broadway, and bisected by the Aqueduct Trail. Expanding parking in this area will accommodate the current usage of the surface lots that resulted from the demolition of during Urban Renewal. Shifting parking away from the surface lots will enable Ossining to reimagine the heart of our downtown, create a truly welcoming community gathering space, and restore the missing side of Main Street.
