North Sea Pines Drive Improvement Project Update

For the remainder of this week, Sea Pines CSA contractors will be on-site conducting full-depth asphalt patching in select areas, roadside soil grading operations along the project zone, pouring and installing new curbing in proximity to Lawton Drive and North Sea Pines Drive and completing leisure trail paving operations.

Sea Pines CSA is working with our contractor to schedule paving operations for next week (3/7/22) on North Sea Pines Drive from the Sea Pines Beach Club towards the Ocean Gate, weather permitting

Due to the nature of this work, heavy traffic delays are expected.

Flag persons will be present as needed to control traffic with alternating single-lane closures in the designated work zone.

Tri-axle vehicles are encouraged to use the Greenwood Gate located off of Greenwood Drive for entering and exiting the Sea Pines community.

Please use caution while driving in this area and observe the work zone speed limit of 15 mph and obey all traffic management personnel, signage and devices.

Crews will also apply temporary line stripping to the paved roadway and then return after the necessary curing period to complete permanent line stripping, crosswalk stamping and install roadway reflectors.

Leisure trails remain closed in the project zone. Please refer to the Leisure Trail detour map here for more information.

To avoid delays in the project area, please use the main gate located on Greenwood Drive.

What's Next:

Following paving operations on North Sea Pines Drive, milling and paving operations will be scheduled for the following roads: Catbird Lane, Sandhill Crane Road, Mockingbird Lane, Pyxie Lane, and a section of Lawton Drive from North Sea Pines Drive to Night Heron Lane.

Sea Pines CSA Boardwalk #15 Remains Closed for Reconstruction

Replacement and construction work on Boardwalk #15 is currently underway. The boardwalk will also be extended by 140 feet over the dune to aid in the protection and allow the dune to continue to build.

Our contractor is experiencing supply chain issues with material delivery. Work will take approximately two more weeks to complete, weather permitting. The beach boardwalk access will be closed to all pedestrian traffic during this time.

Sea Pines Forest Preserve Prescribed Burn Scheduled for Friday, March 4, 2022, weather permitting

We have been notified by the Sea Pines Forest Preserve Foundation that due to favorable weather conditions, a prescribed burn has been scheduled for Friday, March 4th beginning between 10:00 am-noon. The prescribed burn will conclude late afternoon and there is a possibility that parts of the community may be able to visibly see or smell smoke. On the day of burning, the Forest Preserve will remain open, but there will be a restricted area near White Ibis Swamp. Please click here to view a map of the Forest Preserve.

Please note this schedule is tentative and based upon the most current weather forecast and the decision to conduct the burn will not be made until closer to 10:00 am tomorrow morning. We will send an update to the community once we have been notified of the final decision.

Be Aware! Phone Scam Alert

Sea Pines CSA is asking the public to be on alert for phone calls from someone pretending to be from a collection agency working to collect debts on behalf of the Town of Hilton Head Island regarding miscellaneous items and debris on their property within Sea Pines. Please note: The Town of Hilton Head stated they would not enter Sea Pines for an enforcement violation as stated in the phone call.

Stormwater Ditch Maintenance

Stormwater ditch maintenance near 77 Baynard Cove Road is in progress. Once completed, ditch maintenance will begin on Harleston Green Road and will continue into next week, weather permitting.

Stormwater Maintenance On Club Course Drive

Line jetting on Club Course Drive and the side streets off of Club Course Drive began this week and will continue into next week, weather permitting.
There may be intermittent lane closures to complete this work. Sea Pines CSA staff will be on site to direct traffic, as needed.

Leisure Trail Tree Trimming

Leisure trail tree trimming began on South Sea Pines Drive, near Greenwood Lane this week and will continue into the week of March 7th, weather permitting.
Leisure trails will remain open and we ask that pedestrians and bikers proceed with caution.

Removing Landscaping In Beach Trust / Sea Pines CSA Open Space

Land Use Rules and Regulations Part 1 Section 3.1 -
Unapproved disruption of government protected critical environments may be subject to penalties as defined by law.

Land Use Rules and Regulations Part 1 Section 6.2 -
Special consideration shall be given to vegetation and the land itself bordering waterways, lagoons, the oceanfront and any other government protected critical environment. If such land is not the Property of the Owner, modification of it and/or its vegetation requires pre-approval from its legal owner and/or administrator.
Disruption of such areas are subject to penalties for trespassing and for violations as defined by law.

2022 Sea Pines CSA Residential Assessment Payment Reminder

A second notice has been sent to Property Owners who have not paid their 2022 Sea Pines CSA Annual Assessment. Please remit payment promptly to ensure no further delinquent charges are added to your account. If you need a copy of your invoice and/or instructions on how to pay your assessment, please e-mail Tracey McNeill at traceym@csaseapines.com.

For those property owners with outstanding balances on April 1, 2022, your guest pass, as well as your rental guest pass privileges, will be suspended. We sincerely appreciate all property owners who have remitted payments timely.
