Jackie Cabasso and Marylia Kelley
This month we focused on
75 Years of Opposing Nuclear Weapons
Holding Space for Peace in a System Based on Destruction
On this ONE WILPF Call, two anti-nuclear powerhouses shared their perspective on 2020 and beyond.
Marylia Kelley of Tri-Valley CARES in Livermore CA and
Jackie Cabasso of the Western States Legal Foundation and
Mayors For Peace are experts on the dangers and threats of new nuclear weapons and shared details of the obscene costs, the numbers of new nuclear weapons and ideas for how to respond to the rising tide of new nukes being advanced by our government.
You'll want to hear their inspiring and hopeful strategies for opposing nuclear expansion policies, while there's still time to plan for August 2020 events.
We also discussed further planning for the
2020 Solidarity Actions in a member forum.
The next ONE WILPF Call is Thursday, April 9
4pm Pacific, 5pm Mountain, 6pm Central, 7pm Eastern
Osprey Orielle Lake with Women's Earth & Climate Action in preparation for Earth Day
The Women's Earth & Climate Action Network reaches across the US and the globe to work with indigenous women climate and environmental activists. You'll want to hear about the efforts they are making to protect water and air, forests and our magnificent biodiversity. We'll hear about plans to celebrate EARTH DAY this year, and a Member Forum will nail down some decisions on our Solidarity Actions for 2020.
