Fueling our Students through College Application Week
October 26-30!
October 26-October 30th DCPS is celebrating College Application Week and the Chamber wants to help DCPS create a supportive atmosphere that celebrates the students' hard work and encourages them to dream big.
College Application Week is an opportunity to encourage students to take the next step toward their future, explore postsecondary opportunities, and complete college applications. The High Schools are looking for donations of gift cards and snacks to help make this a fun and engaging experience for the students. Both Cambridge South Dorchester High School and North Dorchester High School will be participating.
If you or your organization are willing to contribute gift cards, individually packaged snacks, or other treats to help fuel our students through those college essay questions and financial aid applications, let us know. We can pick up donations, or you can drop them off at the Chamber (306 High Street in downtown Cambridge!) and we will deliver them to the schools through the week. If it's more convenient for you, you can also contact the high schools directly to arrange drop offs.
Every donation, big or small, helps make the week special and reinforces the message that our community believes in our students and their futures.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and for the Dorchester Chamber. Please email us if you are interested in donating or would like additional information.

It'sTime to Check Your Information
We are working to update member records
Please be sure to let us know if there are changes to be made to your account.
We are currently working on the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce 2027 Business and Community Resource Directory, and we want to make sure the information we print in the book for you is as accurate as possible. We also get thousands of online searches of our member directory each month so the more accurate your data the more likely new business will come your way.
Your membership provides excellent opportunities for your organization to attract new customers and share information with our community and the region. Completing and keeping your profile accurate is critical to gaining increased visibility and exposure. All the information we capture is important, but keywords are critical, and they need to be accurate and complete for your business to show up in online searches.
An email was sent out to all members 10/6/2026 to review the information we have. You can also just email the corrections to us at robinmarie@dochesterchamber.org.

Eastern Shore Land Conservancy protects 350 conservation easement on Maryland's Eastern Shore |
| | | Easton, MD, September 22, 2026 — Eastern Shore Land Conservancy has permanently protected its 350th conservation easement; Leslie and Vincent M. Raimond’s 62-acre haven of forest, wetland, and grassland. “Our 350th easement functions as a critical keystone in a contiguous block of more than 1,200 protected acres in Kent County,” commented ESLC President & CEO Steve Kline. Home of historic Toad Hall and the Prince Raimond Arts Center, the property is primarily forest, providing extensive riparian habitat for wildlife (especially forest interior dwelling species of birds) and actively benefiting the water quality of Still Pond Creek. 100-foot forested buffer strips protect flooded beaver habitat, 2,200 linear feet of shoreline, a three-acre pond and seven acres of wetlands that support diverse plant and wildlife communities and perform critical ecological functions, including stormwater retention and nutrient cycling. More than 11 acres of the property are covered by grassland and shrubland, providing valuable open space for ground-nesting birds, turtles, rabbits, butterflies, numerous pollinator species, and, of course, toads.
