2020 Tenth Grade Youth Pilgrimage
Invitation and Details

LONDON & CANTERBURY
JUNE 13 - 21, 2020
Deadline to Register: December 1 (Extended)
Dear All Saints' Tenth Grade Students and Parents:
This is your official invitation to the annual Summer Youth Pilgrimage! This year we are headed to the UK for what promises to be an incredible journey of learning, exploration, and spiritual growth as we immerse ourselves in history and culture while connecting with our roots in the Church of England. All tenth graders are welcome to join us.
Why Pilgrimage?
At All Saints', the tenth grade pilgrimage is an annual rite of passage that provides a space for youth to learn what it means to be lifelong pilgrims in the way of Christ. Beyond mere tourism, our hope is that pilgrimage will give our youth a taste of transformative Christian community while equipping them with tools and practices to perceive and discern God's presence in their lives as they head into the latter part of high school and beyond.
Why England?
As Episcopalians, we are part of a family of churches that trace our historical roots to Christianity in the British Isles at the English Reformation and even earlier. While journeying to London, Canterbury, and surrounding sites we will have the opportunity to engage in rich historical and theological reflection as we unite our steps to the thousands upon thousands who have made pilgrimage before us. From Westminster Abbey to the White Cliffs of Dover, to hearing the story of St. Augustine and exploring Canterbury Cathedral, this trip promises to be a great adventure, filled with opportunities for holy encounter with friends new and old.

Cost and Payment
Total Cost: $3,000 per person (all-Inclusive except for souvenirs and snacks). We do not want this to be cost prohibitive for any of our youth, and we raise significant funds to offset the expenses for everyone. We simply ask that each youth/family contribute something according to what you can afford. For some that might mean $500, for others it will be the full amount. In addition, we make provision to take payments through the end of the calendar year (2020) if necessary.  Again, we do not want cost to be the prohibitive factor for any youth. Please contact Rev. Zack to work something out!

Suggested Payment Schedule:

December 1 (Deadline to Register)
$500 Non-refundable Deposit

January 15
$1000 Payment

March 15
$1000 Payment

May 15
$500 Payment
Itinerary and Details

Thanks to everyone who was able to join us for the informational meeting on September 22. The PDF handout from that night, with all the details and tentative itinerary is available here. In addition, we are working to incorporate a "Harry Potter Day" in Oxford. More info to come.

In the meantime, please take some time to consider all this information and don't hesitate to reach out to me personally with any questions. This is going to be an awesome pilgrimage, and I hope as many of our tenth graders as possible will choose to come along!
Peace,
