Child Care Chronicles

Hi New York Child Care Heroes! 🗽💛

Happy February! This month is all about tiny wins—the moments that feel small, but are actually HUGE: a child who tries again, a friend who shares, a teacher who takes a calm breath and starts fresh. If your week has been “a lot”… you’re not alone. You’ve got this. ☕️✨

Fun Corner: Giggles + Good Vibes

What fun classroom ideas can we do this week? 💘🎨

1) “Kindness Chain” (All ages)

-Cut paper strips.

-Each time you catch a kind act, write it on a strip: “Jayden helped clean up.”

-Link them together and watch the chain grow all month!

2) “Heart Beat Dance Break” (Toddlers + Preschool)

Put on a song and do:

-10 marches

-5 deep breaths

Say: “We’re helping our hearts feel calm and strong.” ❤️

3) “Community Helpers Valentine” (Preschool + School Age)

Have kids make simple thank-you cards for a local helper (librarian, mail carrier, cafeteria staff, etc.). Kids love doing “real” kindness.
