Fall Fest 2025

A Broadway Hit on Salem’s Campus

Salem students took center stage last month for one of the most beloved campus traditions - Fall Fest! This special day gives students a well-deserved break from classes and a chance to celebrate creativity, friendship, and class spirit through songs and skits.

This year’s theme, “Broadway Shows,” highlighted the campus star power as each class performed its own take on a famous musical, including Heathers, Wicked, Hamilton, and Beetlejuice. From clever lyrics to dazzling sets, the performances showcased the talent and teamwork that make Salem students shine.

Beyond the laughter and applause, Fall Fest continues to be a meaningful tradition that strengthens class bonds and builds lasting memories, reminding everyone that at Salem, sisterhood always takes center stage.

Student Story

Scarlett Urbaez C'26

As a double major in Public Health and Health Advocacy & Humanitarianism, with a minor in Environmental Justice, Scarlett aspires to be a leader within the public health systems and promote compassion.

I have been fortunate enough throughout my life to always

have access to the essential resources I needed. However, I

witnessed my hardworking parents push their health ailments to the

side in fear of copays and out of prioritization of the family.

Scarlett Urbaez

After graduation she hopes to empower communities to advocate for themselves and those around them. Salem College has taught her that there is strength in knowledge and that her voice can enact change.

When asked what she enjoys most about Salem, this future alumna says it is the faculty and staff. She shares that they are some of the most influential figures in her life.

Create a Legacy for Salem

Is this the year you plan a legacy gift for Salem College? Gifts that were planned long ago benefit Salem and our students now in generous ways. Last year, Salem received over $1 million from thoughtful planned legacy gifts.

It's easy to plan a win-win for you and Salem:

• If you hold a fully paid insurance policy you no longer need, you can simply change the beneficiary to Salem.
• Have you recently started a new job that offers a free insurance policy? Many young alumnae are naming Salem as the full or partial beneficiary of their policy.
• When it's time to outline or update your estate plans, ask your financial advisor for the best way you can create a legacy for Salem.

Contact the Office of Institutional Advancement at 336-721-2607. Legacy donors become members of Salem’s Rondthaler Society, a special part of the Salem family, and are included in donor events such as Christmastide.

Thank you for planning ahead for Salem's future!
