To the Cape Cod Tech Community,
I would like to welcome back your student as I am thrilled for the final full school year in the original Cape Cod Regional Technical High School building
For the past two months our building has been somewhat dormant. On August 29th, it comes alive once again as students enter into the hallowed halls of Crusader Nation.
As we ready for the next phase for technical education on Cape Cod, our school community will prepare for the transition. In order to allow for Brait Builders Construction to complete this project ahead of schedule, they have asked that we finish the 2019-2020 school year as early as possible. Therefore, school will begin prior to Labor Day on
Thursday, August 29th
for students. We will start in a Maroon week, so students should come prepared for their respective classes. (Maroon week: 9/11 in academics; 10/12 in shop) This will allow us to finish school on June 12, 2020, barring any snow days.
Please click here for a School Calendar
.
Parents, the calendar is not the only way we need to prepare. The vision of the new building and school community will focus on developing collaborative and relevant small learning communities with integrated technical and academic subjects. The new facility invites teachers to collaborate on a more global scale where their instruction will consistently engage your student to achieve at a high level. We developed our instructional model to position your students to learn 21st century skills, especially the “four C’s”, collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking, while simultaneously meeting standard curriculum goals. In other words, we want to prepare your student for their future.
This vision is not something that is easily accomplished just by moving into a new facility. Our staff will need to learn to collaborate and integrate their curriculums, as well as find the best entry points to do so in the future. Therefore, we are putting much emphasis on continuous professional development to ensure that we cultivate this collaborative learning environment
. As you will see we will continue our once a month Monday 2-hour early dismissals. However, we have also introduced a 1-hour early dismissal on designated Wednesdays during the course of the year.
This time for collaboration will allow faculty and staff to foster and implement new learning opportunities for your child.
We will again be using SchoolBrains for our Student Record keeping. This system allows parents to have up to date grading, attendance and other information that will help you support your student. All parents will receive an email a week prior to school with further directions on how to sign up and log on. Please look for it. If you do not receive it by August 27th, please contact us at
assistance@capetech.us
In this newsletter we have included several documents, letters, flyers and bus routes to make sure you are up to date on all the needed information. See all the news in the sections below.
This is an exciting time for our community. In less than 12 months we will be moving into “The New Cape Cod Tech.” I look forward to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. However, I want to assure you that we will continue to focus on the present to ensure that your student achieves success this year as well. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at (508)432-4500 ext 216.
Thank you,
William Terranova

Food Services Information
Dear Parents and Guardians:
The new school year will soon be upon us, and we want to extend a warm welcome and let you know that Cape Cod Tech's School Food & Nutrition Services has some exciting plans in place for serving your child nutritious and delicious meals at school. Our mission is to ensure that we not only serve healthy and well-balanced meals, but foods your children will want to eat.
The District utilizes a Point of Sales (POS) system called Meals Plus to increase the level of service to families and to provide more accurate school meal accounting. One of the biggest advantages to Meals Plus is the ability to allow parents to prepay for meals. Every student will be assigned a four digit PIN # which they will use each day to pay for their lunch and/or breakfast. When they type their PIN into the number pad, their picture will appear on the cashier's screen along with their name, grade, and account balance. Any money that the student gives the cashier will be deposited into their account.
If you have any questions please contact me in the food service office at 508-255-8800 ext. 120 or email
smurray@capetech.us
I look forward to serving your children delicious and nutritious meals!
Thank you,
Susan Murray, SNS
Director of Food & Nutrition Services
