Greetings Connect K8 Families,

We hope you've enjoyed the surprise clouds and rain this week as we settle into Fall. We would like to take a moment to honor and remember Dr. Melvin Johnson, our beloved Core 5 teacher who passed away in October of last year. Our staff explored this resource together as a staff this week, and encourage anyone who may need to support to reach out to Nydia, our counselor for additional grief resources.

During professional development this week, our staff had the opportunity to attend Da Vinci Schools' Transforming Learning Conference where staff could attend workshops on Belonging, Inclusion and Co-Teaching, and attend a keynote address by Dr. Vince Bertram, a current thought leader in innovative education, author, and former CEO of Project Lead the Way. We are excited to apply what we've learned in the Connect community!

We look forward to Student Led Conferences this week!

Take Good Care,

Kaitlin (she/her) and Sage (he/him)
