Hi Friends,

I hope you have all had a wonderful week and those who are on winter break are enjoying some much deserved time off! As I was preparing for this coming Sunday, I was struck by the irony that our gospel reading, Luke 6:27-36, is coming to us right after Valentines Day. Luke 6:27-36 is the reading that some refer to as "the hardest commandment" because it is all about loving your enemies. It has many commands like "love your enemies, do good to those who hate you" and "bless those who curse you" and "if anyone strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also." I mean, that is tough stuff! I think we all find ourselves struggling to love those people who might not treat us how we should be treated, but God calls us to love them regardless. This week, I want to challenge you to show love to everyone around you, especially those who are sometimes hard to love. Show them grace and compassion even when it is difficult. As the text goes on to say, "love your enemies, do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Your reward will be great and you will be children of the Most High."

See you on Sunday!

Peace,
Hope

AT SUNDAY NIGHT LIVE
During the season of Lent, the youth at All Saints will be baking through the Bible and learning how to connect with God through bread. We will end our six week journey with hosting the Agape meal and baking bread for the Maundy Thursday foot washing service on April 14th. We hope all youth in 6th-12th grade will join us as we bake in community and see all the ways that bread is tied to scripture and tradition. | Every Sunday in Lent from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in The Attic
