Want to make a difference on campus? Student elections are coming up, and we need leaders like you! Complete an online Candidate Form to run for a position in the Associated Student Body of American River College or as the districtwide student trustee.

ARC Student Recognized as

Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship Semifinalists


Soraya Amin from ARC has been named semifinalists for the Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, an award providing up to $55,000 per year to support community college students as they transfer to a four-year institution.

 

This distinction places Soraya among a select group of 467 students nationwide recognized for their academic excellence, perseverance, and leadership.

Late-Start Classes Start This Week


It's not too late to enroll this spring! The second eight-week (8W2) term starts Monday, March 24. Other late-start classes begin throughout the semester. This is a great opportunity to add another class so you can complete your program sooner and reach your academic goals faster!

Poderosas Mural Arrives at ARC!


El Centro is thrilled to welcome the Poderosas Mural to ARC! On display in the Writing Center (LRC) from March 17 – August 29, 2025, this powerful mural amplifies the voices of historically marginalized communities, particularly women of color. "The Outstanding Chicana/Latina Poderosas Mural Project recognizes 9 Xicana/Latina Poderosas, or 'powerful women,' who have engaged in social justice and advocacy in the Sacramento Valley region".


To celebrate, we’re hosting workshops and discussions, including a panel with the women featured in the mural on Thursday, April 10.

Women’s March Poster Design Day


Prepare for the Women’s March with a poster-making event on March 24 and 25 from Noon to 2:00 pm in the Center for Leadership and Development! Bring your creativity as we design signs to celebrate and uplift the women in our community. All supplies will be provided.

Fem Fest


Join us on Wednesday, March 26 in the Student Center and STEM Quad to celebrate Women's History Month through our first ever Fem Fest, a 4-hour-long campus-wide event that will include Care Fest (10:00 am - 2:00 pm), a Women's March around campus (11:30 am - 12:00 pm), information regarding Associated Student Body elections for 2025-2026 (12:00 - 2:00 pm), and other fun activities!

Complete the Real College California Survey


All of us here at American River College care about your success as a student. You are invited to participate in a survey to help us better understand the challenges students face while attending college and to learn more about how students overcome these challenges.


The survey will take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary and completely anonymous. By participating in the survey, you will have the opportunity to enter into a drawing for a chance to win one of twenty $250 incentives.


This survey is being administered by The Research and Planning Group (The RP Group) for California Community Colleges. Survey results will be used both statewide and here at Los Rios to better support students now and in years to come.

Silvery Synthesis: Photography by Dominick Porras


ARC is proud to present "Silvery Synthesis," an exhibition by Dominick Porras, running from March 24 – April 18, 2025, in the Kaneko Gallery. Join us for a reception on Thursday, March 27, at 12:00 pm.


"Silvery Slipstreams" are analogue projected visions emerging in each photo composition. Utilizing a 35mm camera as a medium for slipstreaming through time, shifting and navigating between the past, present, and future. Through storywork-based research, constructs in simulations anew. Visions of song, dance through visual narrations that radically challenge an imposed reality. -Dominick Porras, M.F.A.
