WILPF Board Elections

Meet the Candidates!

The ballots for the 2024 WILPF National Board Elections have gone to the printer and should begin arriving in your mailboxes around Nov. 26-Dec 6. Now it’s time to learn about the candidates!

Candidate Forums

These dynamic informational opportunities will be offered as two 90-minute candidates forums:

Monday, Nov. 18 (7pm Eastern/ 6pm Central/ 5pm Mountain/ 4pm Pacific) and

Thursday, Nov. 21 (8pm Eastern / 7pm Central / 6pm Mountain / 5pm Pacific)

The candidates are listed near the end of this email, but not all candidates can make it to both forums. To hear them all, you can attend both events.

Also, we are varying the start times to allow those on each coast to pick the best time for themselves.

Register here for either or both forums.

The forums will include short campaign speeches from each candidate and pre-selected questions posed to each. The time available for questions will depend on how many candidates are in that session.

Do you have questions for the candidates? Please submit them to nominatingcommittee@wilpfus.org with “Candidate Forum Questions” in the subject line.

Ballot Specifics

Please vote! Ballots must be postmarked by December 11 to be counted (extended two days beyond original deadline). Election results will be announced in mid-January.

The ballots are being sent only to members. Generally, you should receive a ballot If you received this alert. If you believe you are a current member and do not receive your ballot in the mail by December 3, please contact our national office by emailing Chris Wilbeck at chris.wilpf@gmail.com or by phone at 515-229-6988. You will be contacted to resolve the situation. If you have other questions or a problem with your ballot, please call Darien De Lu: 916-739-0860 after 9 am PST.

WILPF Bylaws and Election Rules

In addition to the balloting for Board candidates, you’ll have the chance to vote on five Bylaws amendments. Information about these will be posted on the member-only website (see below). Additionally, watch for a November eNews article on the Bylaws.

Please remember: the WILPF election procedure prohibits any WILPF member from using WILPF US listservs or email lists to campaign for themselves or for any candidate. In that way the candidates have equal access to the membership by means of the posted documents and candidate forums.

Additional Ways to Learn about the Candidates

You can see candidate information on the special “member-only” WILPF Election webpage. This page is not publicized on the WILPF US website. You must use this link – which will also be in your mailed ballot information – to view this page.

There you can click on each candidate’s name to view these candidacy documents, grouped together for each candidate: board application, candidate statement, résumé and/or activist bio, and two letters of recommendation. (If the webpage isn’t available yet, check back in a day or so.)

Also, if you miss the live forums, you can watch the recordings on our WILPF YouTube page. (Look for Most recent WILPF US videos.)

Remember to register here for either or both forums, Monday, Nov. 18 and Thursday, Nov. 21.
