Happy New Year! Yes, it is a new year with resolutions, goals, and many articles about how to stick to them, how to achieve them and on and on. But how many of us ask, am I being realistic or idealistic? While being moderately idealistic can motivate us to achieve higher aspirations, I believe that whatever we are aiming to achieve, there are important steps to achieving them such as being realistic.
Two examples of top New Year resolutions are losing weight and exercising more. Many of us who have this goal will be planning how much we want to lose, what diet plan, and /or how many days we will exercise each week. I suggest before we go any further, we include asking ourselves, are we being realistic? When setting a weight loss or exercise goal, I recommend setting both an end goal and a weekly goal, but my question again is, are we aiming for a "realistic vs. idealistic” weight, or exercise plan?
What is the difference?
