Happy March!

Since we last wrote you about Portland's new leaf blower ordinance the focus of our attention has switched to Multnomah County's budget process. We think there is a good chance that the County will fund a position and money for outreach on gas-powered leaf blowers. And our chances will improve with your testimony. Here is what is being proposed.

We're excited by the prospect of the County budgeting $385,609 for this work. If you agree, please provide supportive testimony in writing or attend an evening hearing (6-8 PM) in person on May 8th (hybrid), 15th (in person), or 29th (virtual only). For more information on testifying, click here. The budget request is in the Health Department (you'll see a line to put a check by when you begin the testifying process)

We look forward to a quieter, cleaner, and healthier Portland thanks to your advocacy!

With appreciation,

The QCPDX Steering Committee
