President's Message

Happy Holidays!

We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season and prosperous New Year. The Aloha Chapter council will be taking a break during the holidays but we are currently planning tentative events for the first half of the year (virtually like informative seminars from Roseann/BBB Hawaii; info coming soon).

But before we go on break, we would like to invite you to join us, if possible, and help supply meals to those in need by donating to various food banks in Hawaii. On behalf of the Chapter, we will be providing holiday meals and/or pantry items to the food banks on the Big Island, Maui County (which also covers Molokai and Lanai), Kauai, and Oahu. Hopefully we can do in-person volunteer opportunities, as a Chapter event, in the coming year.

I would like to thank the members that RSVP'd and participated in our first Virtual Holiday Celebration. It was so much fun with tons of laughter, showcasing of the gingerbread masterpieces and unboxing of the holiday kit. See recap of our winners and pictures of the houses below. Thank you again to our Programs Committee and to Lianne Cameron, Cambria USA, for the unbelievable holiday kits that were delivered/mailed to participating members. Visit our social media account on Instagram for the unboxing posts and videos.

As we begin to put this year behind us, I would like to thank all of our members and sponsors. Your continued support of the Chapter is greatly appreciated. We are grateful for our design and construction community and thankful to have many of you as great friends and family.

Have a joyous and safe holiday season!

Gingerbread Contest
Wow! The entries were amazing. Participants were all given the same gingerbread house kit and had the option to use additional details and ingredients. You can view some build-in-progress videos and photos on Instagram and on our member's own pages. Congratulations to the winners (gift card prizes will be sent shortly) and to everyone that participated in our first Gingerbread Showdown (missing some photos)
Festive Hat Contest

Our hat contest winner for 2020 is Carolyn Hyman of Pacific Basin, for her "Cat in the Hat" entry. Carolyn tied her cat toys on her hat and her cat actually joined in, trying to play with them during our zoom event!

Congratulations to Carolyn and her cat.
"Cheer" Cocoa Jar Door Prize

Congratulations to J.R. Ludlow, Pacific Source Maui, for having the special "Cheer" cocoa jar (one of the surprises included in the holiday box).
Besides enjoying the handmade cocoa mix, J.R. will also be receiving a gift card for her win.
Enjoy the Holiday Boxes

We would like to thank our members who were able to participate in our Virtual Holiday Party. We loved seeing your holiday box reveals on Instagram and we appreciate you sharing the photos, videos and tagging the Aloha Chapter. Enjoy the goodies for the rest of the holiday season. We hope our members can join us for the next fun Chapter event in the near future.
