Girls Cross Country Team Wins State Championship

Our girls cross country team won the first-ever cross country OHSAA State Championship for the Eagles this fall, finishing with 158 points, ahead of Shaker Heights Hathaway Brown’s 161 points in the Division II race.

Kaitlyn Van Zandt finished highest for the Eagles, in 5^th place (18:03.34). Karine Bhowmick was 29^th (19:07.88), Campbell Retzke 44^th (19:14.61), Cecilia Keller 50^th (19:20.65) and Berkley LaCount 71^st (19:38.67).

The boys team also competed at the state race and finished 11^th overall, a wonderful season!

Boys Soccer Team Wins State Championship

Our boys soccer team won the Division III State Championship earlier this month, braving the falling rain and snow to shut out Aurora 3-0 in the title matchup. It is the first-ever state title for the BWHS boys soccer team!

Girls Soccer Team Makes it to State Semis

The girls soccer team shut out Big Walnut 3-0 to win the Regional Championship, then closed out the season in the State Semifinal with a 2-0 loss to Hudson.

Band News

Congratulations to the Marching Eagles on receiving a Superior rating at the Ohio Music Educators Association State Competition! The band then closed out the season with an 8th-place finish at the Mid-States Band Association Class AAA Finals, competing against bands from Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

Football Team Wins Regional Championship

After a bye in the first round, the football team began its playoff run with a 56-0 defeat of Granville followed by a 48-6 victory over Tri-Valley. Last Friday the Eagles routed Steubenville 43-0 in the Division III, Region 11 Championship to advance to the State Semifinals.

They now face Tipp City Tippecanoe (13-0) at Mason on Friday at 7:00 p.m. All ticketing is through the OHSAA website.

PCJ Seminarians Visit Weekly

Theology teachers Mike Fry and Michelle McCulloch will host visiting seminarians from the Pontifical College Josephinum in their clases on Thursday afternoons. Matthew Waldman is in his second year of Theology studies for the Diocese of Columbus. John Paul Gan is in his first year of Theology studies for the Diocese of Steubenville. Welcome to Bishop Watterson!

Lunch and Learn Events

If you have flexibility in your schedule and are able to come share your professional experience with our students we would love to hear from you.

Lunch and Learns are held monthly on a specific topic, giving students a brief taste of a career path of interest.

We also host the Alternative Career Pathway Event, an evening event for students and families to explore options outside of the typical four-year college path.
