After 80 Years in Business, Homemakers Furniture Announces Closing

After eighty incredible years of business, Homemakers Furniture and Interiors will be closing its doors. The building, located at 611 West Russell, will then become a new home for applied innovation, technology, and training.


Continuing the legacy of service to Fayetteville and Cumberland County, including Fort Bragg, the FCEDC and CDF intend to open a center for innovative companies, from which they can launch operations that will shape tomorrow's technology. Read more here.


As they wind down operations, they are offering discounted final sales, up to 50% off the original sales price. We encourage everyone to stop by and visit them!

Can Do Performance Financing Program Awards First Two Projects

The first two companies were awarded funding through the Can Do Performance Financing Program at the Fayetteville City Council Meeting on June 9th.


Ashley Johnson of A&A Holdings received $125,000 in funding to create five jobs. Latisha Perkins of Maybridge Development was awarded $300,000 in two phases to create twelve jobs.

EDPNC's Go Global Road Show Comes to Fayetteville

The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC)'s International Trade Team is bringing its Go Global Road Show to Fayetteville on July 22, 2025. This event is for companies that are currently exporting, are export-ready, or want to learn more about developing new foreign markets.


To submit your interest in holding a one-on-one meeting with EDPNC's Foreign Trade Representatives and International Trade Managers, or to attend the lunch presentation and networking session, please fill out this Interest Form. The team will then contact you directly to finalize your scheduling.

Methodist University Cape Fear Valley Health School of Medicine Receives Gift from the Longleaf Pine REALTORS Assocation

The Longleaf Pine REALTORS Association has generously gifted $250,000 to the Methodist University Cape Fear Valley Health School of Medicine. This is another example of community support within Fayetteville and Cumberland County.


The school is set to welcome its first cohort in 2026, pending approval from the Liaison Commission on Medical Education, which will be announced later this year.

Fayetteville Habitat for Humanity Hosts Construction Camp

Back for the second year in a row, Fayetteville Habitat for Humanity will host its Trade Days of Summer: Construction Camp. The program is designed to invest in the next generation of workers, building the future with the future. Attendees will attend a four-day camp learning skills in drywall, plumbing, electrical work, and shed building.
